Estou de volta ao Porto, depois de uns dias fantásticos na Madeira. Foi a primeira vez que lá fui e adorei a ilha. O tempo esteve fantástico, a comida deliciosa e é, sem dúvida, um sítio onde quero voltar. Não imaginam a vontade que eu tenho de partilhar com vocês as fotos analógicas que tirei, mas antes disso fica aqui um pequeno guia com algumas dicas se também vocês estão a pensar ir à Madeira.

I'm back in Porto after some amazing days in Madeira. It was my first time over there, and I truly loved the island. The weather was amazing, the food delicious, and it's definitely a place where I want to return to. You can't imagine how much I want to share with you the analogue photos that I took, but before that here is a small guide with some tips if you're thinking about going to Madeira.



Where I Stayed

Provavelmente, ficaram cansados de ver tantas fotos nas minhas Stories da vista da casa onde fiquei, mas acordar todos os dias com vista para o mar foi um dos highlights desta viagem. Fiquei na Casa Castanha no Funchal e assim que for possível deixo-vos aqui o link.

You probably got tired of seeing so many photos of the view from the house where I stayed at in my Instagram Stories, but waking up every day with a seaside view was one of the highlights of this trip. I stayed at Casa Castanha in Funchal, and, as soon as possible, I will leave a link to it.


What To Do

  • Para descer novamente para o Funchal, os carros de cesto são uma experiência única e também uma tradição da Madeira / To go down to Funchal again, the basket ride is something quite unique and a very cool experience

Algumas peças de roupa simplesmente fazem o outfit todo. Às vezes estamos a usar um outfit super básico e uma simples peça de roupa torna-se a estrela. Neste caso foi este casaco. Uma descoberta numa loja em segunda-mão por apenas 4€. Na verdade, não é meu, a Marta gentilmente emprestou-me para usar com este outfit, mas não é super badass? Eu adoro-o e com isto tenho-vos a dizer que deviam começar a pedir peças emprestadas aos vossos amigos com mais frequência. Quantas vezes não compram algo para determinada ocasião que acabam por usar apenas essa vez? Eu confesso que já caí neste erro inúmeras vezes. A última que me consigo lembrar é ter comprado uns sapatos para um casamento e, como podem adivinhar, apenas os usei nesse mesmo casamento. Não quer dizer que não os volte a usar, mas não lhes estou a dar o devido uso. Sem dúvida, que aprendi com os meus erros e, da próxima vez que achar que "preciso" de algo, vou recorrer ao armário das minhas amigas. Se alguma de vocês está a ler isto, pelo menos já não vão estranhar. E vocês, façam o mesmo.

Some pieces of clothing just make the whole outfit. We can be wearing a super basic outfit, and a star piece changes the whole vibe. On this case, it was this jacket. A bargain at a second-hand store for only 4€. How badass it is? I love it, but, actually, it's not mine. Marta gently lent it to me, and we should all start to borrow clothes from our friends more often. How many times did you buy something for a certain occasion and only wear it once? I know I did this several times before, and I'm definitely not proud of it. The last time I can remember is buying a pair of shoes to wear at a wedding, and guess what? I only wore them at the wedding. I might wear them again, but they just not being used enough. I definitely learnt with my mistakes, and next time I think I "need" something and will ask my friends first. If any of my friends are reading this, at least you're now aware. And you're more than welcome to do the same.

Já há algum tempo que não fazia um post com produtos de beleza/maquilhagem que tenho usado, mas gosto sempre de testar tudo com calma e ver como realmente funcionam na minha pele. Estes produtos que vos venho mostrar hoje são produtos que tenho adorado usar, alguns até já vou na segunda embalagem. Já experimentaram algum deles?

It has been a while since I wrote a post about the beauty/makeup products I've been using, but I really like to test them out and see how they really work on my skin. These products that I'm sharing with you today are products that I really love and that I swear by, some I already bought for the second time around. Have you tried any of them?


Comecei a usar este gel de limpeza no fim do ano passado e desde então que não o larguei. Ao mesmo tempo que desmaquilha a pele, também a limpa, deixando-a super suave e hidratada. Desde que comecei a usar eyeliner que foi bastante difícil encontrar um produto que limpasse os olhos na perfeição sem os deixar irritados, mas este gel é simplesmente perfeito.

I started using this cleansing gel last year, and since then I just can't use anything else. It cleanses while removing makeup, tones and soothes the skin, maintaining hydration at the same time. Since I started using eyeliner that was very hard for me to find a makeup remover that removed the makeup from my eyes without making them feel scratchy, but this gel is perfect.

Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

Antes de usar esta base, estava a usar a Pro Filt'r da Fenty Beauty. Não é que não tenha gostado dela, mas tinha bastante curiosidade em experimentar esta da Nars e ainda bem que o fiz, pois gosto bem mais desta. Ao contrário da base da Fenty Beauty, esta é bem mais leve, mas com o mesmo grau de cobertura e com um acabamento mais luminoso. É a primeira vez que uso produtos da Nars, mas já estou rendida.

Before trying out this foundation, I was using Pro Filt'r by Fenty Beauty. I really liked it, but I was very curious to try out this one by Nars, and I'm so glad I did it because I like this one even better. Against the Fenty Beauty foundation, this one feels lighter on the skin, but with the same level of coverage and with a more luminous finishing. It's the first time I'm using Nars products, but I'm already a fan.

Vichy Pureté Thermale Mineral Micellar Water

Para limpar a pele uso sempre o gel de que vos falei em cima, mas existe alturas em que estou com mais pressa ou quando estou em viagem e que quero um produto que seja mais rápido e que não precise de uma rotina de pele tão extensa. Para essas alturas, água micelar é o produto indicado. Esta da Vichy é das minhas favoritas. Limpa a pele na perfeição, deixando-a bastante suave.

To cleanse my skin I always use the gel I told you about before, but sometimes I want something quick for when I'm in a rush or while I'm travelling and so I need a product that it's faster and that I don't need to do my whole skincare routine. For these times micellar water is my go-to, and this one by Vichy is my favourite. Cleanses the skin and leaves it very soft.

Depois de ler o 'Sputnik, Meu Amor' do Haruki Murakami, decidi que estava na hora de ler outro livro deste autor e o escolhido foi 'Kafta à Beira-Mar'. E se achei que o primeiro se debatia imenso entre o real e o irreal, neste livro isso é levado ao extremo. É uma história partilhada entre duas personagens que se interconectam. Kafta, um rapaz de quinze anos que foge de casa e Nakata, um homem velho analfabeto e mágico. Todo o livro é uma metáfora gigante e o tempo é um conceito bastante explorado. É um livro que nos deixa com imensas questões por responder e acho que é isso mesmo que o torna tão interessante. É um daqueles livros que deixa o leitor decidir qual a moral da história. Já é a segunda vez que faço uma review de um livro do Murakami e é sempre bastante difícil para mim. São livros tão diferentes do habitual que têm mesmo de os experienciar para o perceber. Para ser sincera, não vos sei dizer se adorei o livro ou se achei que é demasiado irreal, mas uma coisa sei, quero ler mais livros do Murakami e isso só pode dizer que no fundo gostei bastante.

After reading 'Sputnik Sweatheart' by Haruki Murakami, I decided it was about time to read another book by this author, and I read 'Kafta On The Shore'. And if I thought the first one was constantly debating between real and unreal, on this one that is taken to the extreme. This novel is shared between two people's interconnected tales. Kafta, a fifteen-year-old boy who runs away from home, and Nakata, an illiterate and magical old-man. The book is a huge metaphor, and time is a concept that is very important throughout the whole story. It's a book that leaves you with a lot of unanswered questions, and I think that's the point. It's one of those books where the reader is left to decide what the book ultimately does. It's always very hard for me to review Murakami's books, his books are so different from usual, and it's really something you have to experience for yourself. To be honest with you, I don't know if I loved the book, or if I felt that it was way too unreal, but one thing I know, I want to read more books by Murakami, so that can only mean one thing: I surely enjoyed reading this book.

Sou o tipo de pessoa que gosta sempre de ver o lado positivo das coisas e, com isso, gosto de apreciar as pequenas coisas da vida. Muitas das vezes são essas pequenas coisas que mais felicidade nos trazem e hoje partilho com vocês três pequenas coisas que me deixam sempre com um sorriso no rosto. I'm the kind of person who always likes to look at the bright side of life, and I really appreciate the small things in life. Most of the times, those small things are the ones that really bring us the most joy, and today I'm sharing with you three small things that always leave me with a smile in my face. 1. Getting My Film Photos Back

Qualquer pessoa que goste de fotografia analógica está familiarizada com este sentimento. O momento em que vamos buscar as fotos e vemos como ficaram é das melhores coisas da fotografia analógica. E quando olho para as fotografias e me lembro de todos aqueles momentos é algo que me traz bastante alegria.

Anyone who's into film photography knows how good is the feeling of getting your film back, and see how all the photos turn out. It's definitely one of the best things about film photography, the moment when you see the photos and get so much joy remembering all those moments.


 2. Reading My Book In Bed

Algo que adoro é acordar cedo ao fim-de-semana, fazer um cappuccino e ler o meu livro na cama. Se estiver um dia de Sol com luz natural a entrar pelo quarto, ainda melhor.

Something that I really love is waking up early on the weekend, make myself a cappuccino, and read my book in bed. If it's a sunny day with natural light entering the room, even better.


3. Finding The Perfect Piece Of Clothing At A Vintage Store

Podem-me chamar superficial, mas gosto de roupa e encontrar a peça de roupa perfeita numa loja vintage é um sentimento que também me traz alegria. Pensar como vou incorporar a peça no meu guarda-roupa e saber que estou a ser amiga do ambiente ao mesmo tempo é algo que me deixa bastante feliz.

You can call me superficial, but I really like clothes, and finding the perfect piece of clothing at a vintage store is something that brings me a lot of joy. Thinking how I will incorporate it into my wardrobe, and knowing that my action is environment-friendly, it's something that makes me happy.

O último 'Film Diary' foi em Berlim, mas desta vez voltamos ao Porto. Apesar dos dias chuvosos terem voltado, estas fotos foram tiradas em dias que quase pareciam de Verão. Dias quentes, mais longos que o habitual e na melhor companhia. Aproveito também para dizer que o próximo 'Film Diary' vai ser na Madeira. Vou amanhã para lá e estou super entusiasmada e com imensa vontade de fotografar em analógico. Espero que gostem das fotos.

The last 'Film Diary' I shared was in Berlin, but this time we're back to Porto. Even though the rainy days are back, these photos were shot during days that almost felt like Summer. Warm days, that somehow seemed longer than usual, and in the best company. I take this chance to tell you that the next 'Film Diary' is going to be in Madeira. I'm flying there tomorrow, and I'm very excited to shoot some analogue photos. I hope you like these photos.


Nestes últimos dias, tenho vindo a pensar em amizade e como esta muda ao longo dos anos. Passamos de estar todos os dias com os nossos amigos, quer seja na escola ou na faculdade, para termos de fazer planos para os conseguir ver e estar com eles. E, a partir do momento em que todos estão a trabalhar, com horários que muitas das vezes não são compatíveis, isto torna-se ainda mais difícil. Todas as relações envolvem algum tipo de esforço e também com os nossos amigos isto se aplica. É um facto, à medida que ficamos mais velhos, vemos os nossos amigos com menos frequência. Sim, é chato, mas faz parte. Não significa que a nossa amizade esteja a acabar, na verdade, sinto que os amigos que tenho agora são amigos super chegados em que posso confiar a 100% e com que posso contar sempre. Apenas temos que nos esforçar mais para ver as pessoas de que gostamos e com quem nos preocupamos. "A strong friendship doesn't need daily conversation, doesn't always need togetherness, as long as the relationship lives in the heart, true friends will never part." Pode soar cheesy, mas é totalmente verdade.

These last couple of days I've been thinking about friendships and how they change through the years. We went from being every day with our friends at school/college to having to actually make plans to see them and hang out with them. And then you all have jobs with totally different schedules which makes it even harder. All relationships require some effort, and friendships are no exception. In your twenties, you see less of your friends. Yes, it's a bummer, but it's okay. It doesn't mean your friendships are falling apart, actually, I feel like all the friends I have now are very close friends, and I can trust and rely on all of them. You just have to work harder to see the people that matter to you. "A strong friendship doesn't need daily conversation, doesn't always need togetherness, as long as the relationship lives in the heart, true friends will never part." I know it might sound cheesy, but it's oh so true.
