Até vos podia falar sobre este outfit ou sobre qualquer outro assunto bem random como eu costumo fazer, mas, neste momento, tudo o que consigo pensar é que daqui a dois dias vou ver uma das minhas artistas favoritas ao vivo e não imaginam o quanto eu esperei por este momento. Estou, claro, a falar da Lana Del Rey. Desde o início que acompanho o seu trabalho. Tenho todos os seus álbuns, o Ultraviolence deve ser o álbum que eu mais vezes ouço e tenho imensas revistas de qual ela foi capa. Mas é mesmo difícil transmitir por palavras aquilo que ela significa para mim. Mas acho que todos nós temos artistas assim, que nos "falam" a um outro nível e a Lana Del Rey é uma dessas artistas para mim. Amanhã já vou para Lisboa, mas o blog vai continuar actualizado e, na próxima semana, já vos conto tudo. Mas digam-me, vou encontrar algum de vocês por lá?

I could tell you more about this outfit or talk about something very random how I usually do, but right now, all I can think about, is that in just two days I will be seeing one of my favourite artists live for the first time and you can't imagine how much I've waited for this. I'm talking about Lana Del Rey. Since the beginning that I've been following her work. I have all her albums, Ultraviolence is the record I listen to the most and I have a bunch of magazines that she was the cover of. But it's really hard for me to put into words how much she means to me. I think we all have artists like this that speak to us on another level and Lana Del Rey is one of those artists for me. I'm going to Lisbon tomorrow but the blog will keep being updated as usual and next week I will tell you all about my time over there. But tell me, will I find any of you over there?

Até podia dar-vos algumas dicas sobre comprar em lojas vintage, mas porque não falar com alguém que realmente percebe do assunto? Foi com a Marta que comecei a visitar lojas vintage, foi ela que me mostrou as melhores no Porto, é ela que sempre me encontra as melhores peças e é ela que, hoje, vos vai dar algumas dicas para terem em mente da próxima vez que forem a uma loja vintage.

I could give you some tips on how to buy vintage clothing, but why not speak to someone who really knows what she's talking about? I started going to vintage shops with Marta, she showed me around the best ones in Porto, she always finds me the best pieces and she's the one who's going to give you some tips to keep in mind next time you go vintage shopping.

 1. Go With An Open Mind
"Estejam conscientes de que poderão não encontrar logo as peças perfeitas e adequadas ao vosso estilo. Existirão centenas de padrões, cortes e tecidos. O truque é procurar e ter muita paciência".

"Be aware that you're probably not going to find the pieces that really go with your style right away. You will find hundreds of prints, cuts and fabrics. The trick is to search really well and have patience".

2. Take Cash With You
"A maioria destas lojas não têm multibanco, por isso é uma óptima ideia irem preparados com dinheiro na carteira".

"Most of these stores don't have payment with cards available so it's a great idea to take cash with you on your wallet".

3. Take Your Own Bag
"Além de não terem de pagar pelo saco, ainda estão a ajudar o ambiente. Andem sempre com um saquinho reutilizável convosco. Tanto dará para este tipo de lojas, como para lojas normais de fast fashion ou até uma ida rápida ao supermercado".

Aqui está a minha wishlist do momento. Cores muito neutras, mas são mesmo as minhas cores de eleição. E tenho de referir o quanto tenho gostado dos vestidos da Bershka. Tenho sempre algum debaixo de olho. E se antes era uma marca que não gostava nada, cada vez estou mais rendida. Basta verem alguns dos meus últimos outfits para perceberem que os meus vestidos são quase todos de lá. E tenho de falar das sandálias também. Não imaginam o quanto eu procurei uma das sandálias deste género com block heel. Normalmente, são sempre com kitten heel, por isso estou mesmo tentada a encomendá-las. O que acham? E qual é a vossa peça favorita da wishlist?

Here is my current wishlist. Lots of neutral colours, but these tones really are my favourites. And I have to mention how much I've been loving Bershka's dresses lately. There's always a new dress that I really want. And to think that Bershka used to be a brand that I really didn't like. You just have to check some of my latest outfits and you realise that most of my dresses are from this brand. And I also have to talk about these sandals. You can't imagine how much I searched for a pair of strappy sandals with a block heel. They usually always have a kitten heel so I really think I'm going to order these ones. What do you think? And which piece is your favourite from this wishlist?

Acho que todos nós passamos por fases em que não sabemos o que vestir. A inspiração falta e parece que nada no nosso armário nos agrada. Todos sabemos o que isso é.  Mas quando partilham os vossos outfits diariamente, essa fase tem de passar rapidamente. Algo que resulta sempre comigo é comprar uma peça nova. Não que todo apoiar o consumismo, mas resulta sempre e, por vezes, pode até mesmo fazer vocês olharem para as vossas roupas de outra forma e pensar noutras combinações que até agora não se tinham lembrado. Estive numa dessas fases há pouco tempo e estas calças foram essa peça para mim. A inspiração voltou logo e, como podem ver, tenho partilhado imensos outfits com elas. Acham que foram uma boa compra?

I think we all go through phases where we don't know what to wear. Inspiration lacks and nothing in our wardrobe seems good enough.  We all have been there. But when you share your outfits on a daily basis, this phase has to go away quickly. Something that always works for me is buying something new. I don't want you to think that I'm supporting consumerism, but it works and sometimes can make you look at your wardrobe in a completely different way and thought about outfits that you've never thought about before. I was going through one of those phases not a while ago and these jeans were one of those pieces. Inspiration was back and, as you can see, I already shared a lot of outfits wearing them. Já por aqui vos falei de quanto eu gosto de wide-leg jeans, mas, por gostar tanto, sei o quão difícil pode ser encontrá-los nas lojas. Por isso é que hoje vou partilhar com vocês quais os meus favoritos e onde encontrá-los. Mas digam-me, também são fãs deste fit?

Este foi o modelo que me fez render aos wide-leg jeans. Foi o primeiro par que comprei e desde então que não os largo. A cintura é bem subida e são um loose fit. Bem sei que não temos Weekday em Portugal, no entanto, o shipping é grátis para encomendas no valor superior a 50€ e é esse exactamente o valor das calças.

This was the first pair that I bought and the ones that really made me get into the wide-leg jeans. They're very high waisted and a loose fit. If you don't have Weekday on your country, usually shipping is free on orders over 50€ and that's exactly the price of these jeans.

Este é um par que apenas está disponível online, mas valem muito a pena. Na cintura, assentam na perfeição. E, além de ter estas pretas, já vêm outras numa ganga mais clara a caminho. A cintura também é bastante subida e são mais compridas que o habitual, mas isso é mesmo algo que eu adoro neste fit.

These jeans are only available online, but I really recommend them. They fit like a dream in the waist. I have them in black and already bought a pair in a lighter blue shade that is on the way. They are also very high waisted and longer than usual, that is something that I really love about this fit.

Contrast Stitching Jeans from Zara

Para mim, o melhor destes jeans são todos os detalhes. Gosto muito dos botões visíveis à frente e das linhas vivas em contraste. Estão agora em saldo, por isso pode ser que ainda as consigam encontrar no vosso tamanho.

The best thing about these jeans are all the details. I really like the buttons to the front and the contrast stitching. They're now on sale so if you're lucky you might still find them on your size.

Sinceramente, não sei como vou conseguir parar de ler livros de memórias, são sempre tão interessantes e o 'My Thoughts Exactly' da Lily Allen não foi excepção. Não posso dizer que seja fã da Lily Allen, lembro-me de quando a "Smile" e a "LDN" foram grandes hits e, na altura, gostava mesmo muito dessas músicas, mas desde então que não tenho seguido o seu trabalho. Mas ouvi falar muito bem deste livro e decidi lê-lo. E ainda bem que o fiz, porque foi dos livros de memórias mais honesto e brutal que alguma vez li. Ela fala da sua infância e da ausência de modelos a seguir, ela fala da sua dependência com rapazes e de infidelidade, ela fala de quão difícil é ser uma mulher na indústria da música e como foi lidar com fama desde muito nova, ela fala da sua relação com as drogas, álcool e sexo e muito mais. Pode ser bastante difícil de ler às vezes, mas, ao mesmo tempo, não conseguem parar. Recomendo mesmo a leitura deste livro.

I honestly don't know how to stop reading memoirs, I always find them very captivating and 'My Thoughts Exactly' by Lily Allen was no exception. I can't say that I was a huge Lily Allen's fan, I remember when "Smile" and "LDN" were huge hits and I really liked those songs back then, but I really haven't followed her work since then. But I read really good things about this book and decided to give it a go. And I'm so glad I did because it was one of the most honest and brutal memoirs I've ever read. She talks about her childhood and her lack of role models, she talks about her co-dependence on guys and infidelity, she talks about her struggles navigating the music industry as a woman and how she dealt with fame since a very young age, she talks about her relationship with drugs, alcohol and sex and so much more. It can be hard to read sometimes but at the same time, you can't stop reading it. Definitely recommend it. 

"I'm writing this to tell my story because telling stories is important, especially if you are a woman. When women share their stories, loudly and clearly and honestly, things begin to change - for the better. This is my story."

Quando escrevi ESTE post sobre o karma e como a nossa ideia sobre o mesmo é completamente errada, um assunto sobre o qual li várias vezes e que também está muito relacionado com o karma é a verdadeira razão por trás das boas acções que praticamos no nosso dia-a-dia, sejam elas ceder o lugar a uma pessoa mais velha nos transportes públicos ou dar dinheiro a alguém que precise dessa ajuda. E porque razão está isto relacionado com o karma, perguntam vocês. Bem, eu achei este assunto bastante interessante, porque quando fazemos estas boas acções, estamos a fazê-las porque queremos realmente fazer algo de bom a outra pessoa ou porque sabemos que nos vamos sentir bem ao fazê-lo? No fundo, não estaremos a ser um pouco egoístas? Não estaremos a disfarçar o altruísmo e a solidariedade com algo completamente oposto?  Realmente, pode ser um assunto um pouco complexo e dá que pensar, mas acho que 90% das boas acções que fiz foi porque sabia que me iria sentir bem ao fazê-las. E não há nada de errado em admitir isto, somos todos humanos e, por consequência, nenhum de nós é perfeito. E, pelo menos, agora já estou ciente disso. Tu estás?

When I wrote THIS post about how our idea of karma is completely wrong, something I read a lot about and that's related to karma is the real reason behind the good deeds we practise on our daily life, being them giving your seat to an older person on the public transportations or giving money to someone in need. And why is this related to karma, you ask. Well, it's actually quite interesting, because when you're doing this good deeds are you doing them because you really want to help someone or because you know you're going to feel good after doing them? Aren't we actually very selfish? Aren't we disguising altruism and solidarity with something that's completely the opposite of that? It can be a tricky subject and really makes you think, but I think 90% of my good deeds I did just because I knew how good I would feel with myself after doing them. There's nothing wrong in admitting this and at least now I am aware of that. Are you?

Lembram-se DESTE post onde previ um pouco como seria o meu estilo este Verão? Não podia estar mais enganada! As minhas palavras na altura para o descrever foram: "bastante feminino e um pouco inspirado no estilo das mulheres parisienses que eu gosto tanto". Não é que eu tenha deixado de gostar desse estilo, porque adoro e há dias em que me apetece ser feminina e, afinal de contas, é essa a piada da moda, todos os dias podermos usar algo completamente diferente. Mas esta é a vibe que estou a sentir neste momento: outfits bastante simples e, normalmente, compostos por básicos. Claro que, por exemplo, este top é um básico com um twist diferente, mas um top preto não deixa de ser um básico. E outra peça que tenho adorado e não tenho consigo parar de usar são wide-leg jeans. E tanto gosto de ver com sapatos de tacão alto, como com sapatilhas. Mas aprendi a lição, não prever como irá ser o meu estilo, porque conhecendo-me bem, daqui a uns meses (ou dias até), o meu estilo já vai ser completamente diferente.

Do you remember THIS post where I kind of predicted my style for this season? I couldn't have been more wrong! My exact words were: "very feminine and a bit inspired by the Parisians women's style that I admire so much". Don't get me wrong, I still love their style and sometimes I do feel like wearing something very feminine, after all, that's why I love fashion so much, every day you can wear something completely different. But this is my vibe right now: very simple outfits and usually with basics involved. Obviously, this top is a basic with a twist, but still a basic. And something that I'm also really into right now is wide-leg jeans. And I love pairing them with both heels and sneakers. But lesson learned! Never predict how your style is going to be like because maybe in a few months (or even days) it's going to be something completely different from what it is today.

Como vos disse no último post onde partilhei com vocês a minha reading list, o próximo livro a ler era o "Devoção" da Patti Smith. E, visto que já o acabei, hoje venho falar-vos um bocadinho sobre ele. Só para vos mostrar o quanto eu gostei desta obra da Patti Smith, acabei este livro em apenas um dia. Não é muito grande, mas foi a primeira vez que isto me aconteceu. Não quero revelar muito sobre este livro, por isso desta vez vou fazer um post diferente do habitual: vou partilhar com vocês as frases que fui sublinhando enquanto o lia.

As I told you on the last post where I shared with you my reading list, the next book I was going to read was "Devotion" by Patti Smith. And since I already finished it, today I'm talking to you about this book. Just for you to understand how much I enjoyed it, I finished it in one day. It's not a very large book, but it was the first time this has happened to me. I don't want to reveal too much about it, so today I'm going to do a post a bit different from usual: I'm sharing with you the quotes I highlighted while I was reading it.
