Jewellery never was something I spent lots of money on, but as you know lately I've been really into earrings and I ended up falling with love with these accessories that can bring so much into an outfit. Da Hey You já vos falei no outro dia, mas claro que tinha de mencionar neste post. As peças são feitas à mão e, por isso mesmo, são únicas. Têm uma grande seleção de acessórios, mas todos muito delicados e sofisticados.

I already talked to you about Hey You the other day, but I had to mention it in this post. The pieces are handmade and because of that unique. They have quite a big range of accessories, but all of them very delicate and sophisticated.


Já tinha ouvido falar da Mesh, mas só no outro dia fui a uma loja ver as peças que vendem. A verdade é que talvez não devesse ter ido, porque apaixonei-me por imensas peças. São todas feitas ou em ouro ou prata, por isso há para todos os gostos.

I already have heard quite nice things about Mesh, but only a few days ago I actually went to a store to see what they sell. Maybe I shouldn't have gone, because I fell in love with quite a few pieces. All pieces are made from gold or silver so there is something for every taste.

A Cinco penso que já dispensa apresentações. Os colares já correram mundo e há razão para isso, são lindíssimos. Mas enganam-se se pensam que a Cinco é só colares, basta dar uma vista de olhos no site para perceberem que todas as peças têm uma identidade muito própria da marca, nunca deixando de ser intemporais.

I don't think I need to say much about Cinco. I'm sure you already bumped into some of their necklaces, they're gorgeous. But don't think that Cinco is only about necklaces, you just need to take a look at the website to realize that all their pieces have a very own identity, but always remaining timeless.


Este é mais um caso de uma marca que descobri pelo Instagram. Vi uma foto de uns brincos e gostei tanto que fui logo cuscar. Acontece que a Alice & Co tem peças lindíssimas. Desde colares a brincos, tenho a certeza que vão encontrar uma peça que vão adorar.

Escrever posts pode ser bastante difícil. Normalmente, sei sempre o que escrever, mas por vezes as ideias não aparecem, é o caso de hoje. Até tenho uma lista no meu telemóvel com imensas ideias que vou apontando, mas às vezes nenhuma delas parece boa o suficiente ou simplesmente ainda não me sinto preparada para escrever sobre determinado assunto. É difícil! Mas parece-me que é o momento ideal para partilhar com vocês o que faço quando isto me acontece.

Writing blog posts can be hard. Most of the time I always know what I’m going to write about, but other days, like today, for example, I have zero ideas. I even have a file on my phone where I write down a lot of ideas and titles for blog posts, but sometimes none of them feel. good enough right to write about or you just don’t feel ready to talk about that subject. The struggle is real guys! That’s why today it felt like the perfect day to share with you some tips on how to overcome a writer's block.


1. Read, read, read

Ler outros artigos pode ser bastante inspirador. Não estou a dizer para roubarem a ideia, mas, às vezes, determinado assunto pode fazer-vos ter uma outra ideia e ora aí têm o vosso post. Adoro ler revistas, a Vogue Portugal ultimamente tem artigos fantásticos.O site Man Repeller também é muito bom. E outros blogs de moda que também gosto muito do estilo de escrita são, por exemplo, o Little Plum, Megan Ellaby, Shot From The Street e Fashion Slave.

Reading other people’s articles can be quite inspiring. I’m not saying to take their ideas, but sometimes a subject can make you think about something else and there you have it, another idea comes to you. I really love reading magazines, Vogue Portugal lately has some great articles. Man Repeller is also amazing. And there are quite a few fashion bloggers that I also really love for their writing style, like Little Plum, Megan Ellaby, Shot From The Street or Fashion Slave.




2. Go for a long walk

Pode parecer estranho, mas se resulta comigo, provavelmente com vocês também vai resultar. Fazer uma caminhada sozinha ajuda-me sempre a ter novas ideias. Acho que talvez seja porque ficas tão focada nos teus pensamentos que as ideias começam a fluir.

This might seem odd, but if it works for me, it doesn’t hurt you to try it out. Going for a long walk by myself really helps me get new ideas. I guess it’s because you really get focus on your own thoughts and ideas just start to flow.


3. Listen to podcasts

Podcasts também podem ser muito inspiradores e há alguns que gosto muito de ouvir. Os temas são sempre super interessantes e têm sempre a vantagem que os podem ouvir enquanto fazem qualquer outra coisa. Podem ler ESTE post que fiz há algum tempo com os meus favoritos.

Podcasts can be so inspiring as well and there are quite a few that I really love to listen to. The subjects are always interesting and you can listen to them while you’re doing something else which is great. You can read THIS post I did a while ago with some of my favourite ones.

Assisti no outro dia a um vídeo no Youtube que me deixou super inspirada. Sabem aquelas tutoriais de maquilhagem que a Vogue faz? Normalmente já gosto imenso de os ver, mas acontece que este último que saiu é com uma das minhas girl crushes, a Jeanne Damas. As mulheres francesas já são conhecidas pelo seu estilo effortless, mas acontece que no que toca a maquilhagem são iguais e aprendi alguns truques que adorei e comecei logo a aplicar. Um deles é a forma como aplicam o batom. Em vez de aplicarem o batom directamente, que era como eu costumava fazer, aplicam antes com o dedo. A sério, o efeito é mesmo fantástico e, desde que vi o tal vídeo, que tenho feito sempre assim. Fica muito mais natural, mas ainda assim têm alguma cor. Podem ver o vídeo em questão AQUI. E experimentem este "truque", tenho a certeza que vão gostar do resultado.

The other day I watched a video on youtube that got me really inspired. Do you know those makeup tutorials Vogue usually does? Usually, I really like those videos, but it happens that the last one was with one of my girl crushes, Jeanne Damas. French women already are known for their effortless style, but it looks like they have the same approach when it comes to makeup and I've learnt some tricks that I began to apply immediately. One of them is the way to apply lipstick. Instead of using the actual stick, she applies it with her finger. Honestly, the effect really is amazing and since I saw it on the video that I've been always applying lipstick like this. It gets very natural, but still with some colour. You can watch the video HERE. And try this "trick", because I'm sure you will love the result.

Tenho de ser sincera com vocês, este ano não estou nada no espírito natalício, pelo menos por enquanto ainda não. Por esta altura no ano passado já estava super no mood, mas este ano ainda não me caiu a ficha. Já fiz a árvore de Natal (e a minha gata tenta constantemente desfazê-la), já comprei algumas prendas e a playlist de Natal já começou a ser tocada, mas não o sinto. Eu vou culpar o tempo, porque temperaturas perto dos 20ºC em Dezembro não é normal. Como posso estar no espírito natalício se ando na rua de T-shirt? E eu até tinha um blazer, mas tive de o tirar por estar tão quente. Ou por exemplo quando fotografei este outfit, estava apenas a usar esta camisola, mas já estava cheia de calor. Eu adoro este tempo, isto sim é o verdadeiro Outono, mas está-me a dificultar a tarefa de entrar no espírito festivo da época. So I have to be honest with you guys, this year I'm not really feeling the Christmas spirit, at least not yet. By this time last year I was really in the mood, but this year it hasn't hit me yet. I already got my Christmas tree up (and my cat continuously tries to take it down), I already bought some gifts and I already start playing Christmas songs, but I just don't feel it. I'm going to blame it on the weather because it's very unusual to be almost 20ºC in December. How can I be in a Christmas mood if I'm walking around town wearing a T-shirt? And I even got a blazer on, but it was so hot I had to take it off. Or even when I shot this outfit, I was only wearing this jumper and I was quite hot. I mean, I love this weather, it really feels like Fall, but it's not helping me to get in a festive mood. So, guys, I need your help, hit me up with all your tips to get super festive and really get into this whole Christmas vibe or are you having the same issue as me?

Como sabem, mais ou menos há quatro meses atrás, comprei os meus sapatos de sonho, os Princetown mules da Gucci. Partilhei com vocês NESTE post todo o processo da compra, mas hoje vou-vos dizer se, passado este tempo, me arrependi ou não desta compra. A resposta é: NÃO! Continuo a adorá-los tanto quanto no dia em que os comprei. São os sapatos mais confortáveis que tenho e, mesmo no início, sempre assim foram, não houve um período em que tive que os "habituar" ao meu pé. Para mim, a única coisa mais negativa é o facto de serem, ao contrário dos loafers Jordaan que são bastante semelhantes, um tipo de sapato apenas para o tempo mais quente o que faz com que estejam parados durantes os quantos meses durante o ano (claro que sempre que o tempo aquece mais um pouco, aproveito para matar saudades). Por isso, resumindo, sim, sem qualquer dúvida voltava a comprar estes sapatos e não me arrependo nada de os ter comprado.

As you know around four months ago I bought the shoes of my dreams, the Princetown mules from Gucci. I shared with you the whole process in THIS post, but today I'm telling you if after all this time I have regretted this purchase or not. And the answer is: HELL NO! I still love them as much as when I first bought them. They're the most comfortable shoes I own and even on the beginning they were like this, there was no breaking in needed. To me, the only bad thing about them is that against the Jordaan loafers that are very alike, they are not a whole year around kind of shoes. They are a pair of shoes that you can only wear in warmer weather which makes them being stopped for quite some months (of course I always take the chance to wear them when it gets a bit warmer). So summing up, I would definitely still buy the shoes and don't regret it a tiny bit.

Estou em choque comigo mesma! Não há nem um outfit com uma peça com o padrão leopardo neste recap. Que se passa comigo? Brincadeira claro, mas ,como já se puderam aperceber, não é algo muito normal comigo. Mas digam-me, qual é o vosso outfit favorito? Se já estão no Instagram há algum tempo, certamente que se lembram como esta rede social costumava ser. Lembram-se como costumava ser tudo tão simples e natural? Ninguém planeava os seus feeds, ninguém sequer sabia o que era ter um tema, ninguém tirava fotos antecipadamente para publicar durante a semana e ninguém sequer imaginava que podiam fazer do Instagram uma carreira. Estavas a tomar um café num sítio super banal? Vamos tirar uma foto. E vamos, por favor, adicionar o filtro 'Nashville' para tornar a foto mais artística e uma moldura também fica sempre bem. Era, basicamente, isto. E, antes de escrever este post, dei-me ao trabalho de fazer scroll no meu Instagram para ver qual foi a primeira foto que partilhei. Foi em 2012 e era uma foto a uma capa da Vogue (com o filtro e com a moldura claro está). A descrição era simplesmente "A Bíblia do mês", apenas isto, sem hashtags. E todas as fotos que acabei por partilhar depois seguem o mesmo caminho. São todas terríveis claro, mas mostram na perfeição a verdadeira razão pela qual o Instagram foi criado. Ninguém na altura imaginava que se iria tornar nisto. Mas digam-me, lembram-se desta altura?  E sabem qual foi a primeira foto que publicaram?

If you been on Instagram for a while, I’m sure you remember Instagram old days. Remember how everything used to be so simple and so natural? No one planned their feeds, no one thought about having a theme, no one took photos in advance so they could post them during the week and no one even imagined they could make it a career. Were you having a coffee after lunch at a very regular cafe? Let’s take a photo and share it, and let’s please add the ‘Nashville’ filter to make it more “artsy” and a very big frame to the photo. Man, those were the days! I actually took the time to scroll through my feed just to see the first photo I shared. It was in 2012 and it’s a photo of a Vogue cover (with the filter and the frame of course). The caption? The bible of the month. Just that with no hashtags. And all the other photos that I shared after follow the same path. They are awful of course, but they really portrait the real reason why Instagram was created. No one could imagine Instagram would turn into this. But tell me, do you remember these days? And do you know what was the first photo you’ve posted?

Muita conversa sobre brincos por aqui ultimamente, mas estou mesmo a ficar um pouco obcecada. Sempre adorei brincos, mas já há algum tempo que queria fazer um update à minha colecção. E foi exactamente isso que fiz. Tenho dois novos pares e são esses mesmo que hoje vos vou mostrar. Os que podem ver na imagem em cima, encontrei no Instagram. São da marca portuguesa Hey You e adoro-os. É muito fácil encontrar brincos giros, mas, normalmente, são sempre em dourado e, como sabem, eu sou bem mais fã de prateado, por isso é que fiquei super contente quando encontrei esta marca, normalmente fazem sempre as duas versões. A lot of earring talking around here lately, but I think I'm nursing an obsession. I always loved earrings but lately, I've been really wanting to add some new ones to my collection. And that's exactly what I did. I have two new additions to my collection and that's what I'm going to show you today. So the ones you can see above I found on Instagram. They're from the Portuguese brand Hey You and I'm in love. It's really easy to find cute earrings, but usually, they are always gold-toned and as you know I'm way more into silver that's why I was super happy when I found out about this brand, they usually always do both versions. I really love the detail of the hanging faux-pearl. You can find them HERE.







Estes, infelizmente, não posso partilhar um link onde os podem encontrar porque comprei num mercado vintage. No fim-de-semana passado, quando estive em Lisboa, andava mesmo à busca de novos brincos. Fui a imensas lojas vintages, mas encontrei estes num mercado em Belém. Não sei se faz muito sentido dizer isto, mas adoro a vibe vintage que têm. Parecem mesmo aqueles brincos que as nossas avós costumavam usar e eu adoro isso. Este tipo de mercados são os melhores para encontrar brincos únicos e diferentes. O único senão é que são bastante pesados.

These ones, unfortunately, I can't share a link with you because I bought them at a vintage market. When I was in Lisbon last weekend I was really on the hunt for some new earrings. I went to loads of vintage stores, but I found these ones at a market around Belém area. I don't know if this makes any sense, but I just love how vintage they look. They really look like those earrings our grandmas used to wear and I love it. These kind of markets are my favourites to find some unique earrings. The only bad thing about them is that they're really heavy.

"Se obedeceres a todas as regras, vais perder todo o divertimento". Esta é uma famosa frase de Katherine Helpburn e não podia concordar mais. Aplica-se a imensas coisas, mas em moda não podia ser mais verdade. Já falei disto por aqui diversas vezes, mas hoje vou falar-vos de três regras de moda que adoro quebrar. Sinceramente, esqueçam todas as regras, se gostam usem e, acima de tudo, divirtam-se com a moda.

"If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun". This is a quote by Katherine Hepburn and I couldn't agree more. It really applies to a lot of things, but in fashion, it really is so true. I have talked about this so many times before, but today I'm actually telling you three fashion rules that I break all the time. Just forget about all the rules, if you like it, wear it and always have fun with fashion.


Rule nº1: Red And Pink Don't Match

Muitas pessoas têm a ideia de que cor-de-rosa e vermelho são duas cores que não se podem combinar. Que fica mal e não combinam. Eu, por outro lado, adoro esta combinação de cores, como podem ver pelo outfit que partilho hoje.

A lot of people have this idea that red and pink are two colours which you can't combine together. That looks bad and don't match. I, on the other hand, love this colour combination as you can see by the outfit I'm sharing today.


Rule nº2: Short girls can't wear midi skirts

Também já li imensas vezes que raparigas mais baixas não devem usar saias midi. Como podem ver por ESTE post ou então ESTE, estou constantemente a quebrar esta regra. Adoro este tipo de saias e, apesar de supostamente me fazerem parecer mais baixa, eu uso de qualquer das formas.

I also already read so many times before that short girls should not wear midi skirts. As you can see by THIS post or THIS one that it's a rule that I'm constantly breaking. I really like these kinds of skirts and although they might make me look shorter I wear them anyway.




Rule nº3: Denim on denim is a fashion faux pas

E, por último, a última regra que quebro várias vezes é usar ganga com ganga. Sem dúvida que podes usar ganga com ganga sem parecer uma Britney Spears saída dos anos 90. Eu adoro ver e, para mim, o segredo é usar diferentes tons de ganga.

And last but not least, the rule I break several times is wearing denim on denim. You can totally rock a denim outfit without looking like a replica of Britney Spears back in the 90s. I really like how it looks and to me, the secret is to wear different washes of denim.

A verdade é que ouço muito mais artistas estrangeiros, acho que todos nós somos assim, mas existem imensos artistas portugueses fantásticos dos quais também sou fã. Por isso, a playlist que partilho hoje com vocês é para vos dar a conhecer os meus artistas portugueses favoritos. Alguns deles cantam em português, outros em inglês, mas garanto-vos que é tudo made in Portugal. Espero que gostem e partilhem comigo quais as vossas bandas portuguesas de eleição. 

Every time I do my monthly playlist I make sure to always add some songs by Portuguese artists. The truth is that I listen to a lot of British and American artists, but I think we all are like this, but there are so many Portuguese artists that I'm also a fan of. That's why today I'm sharing with you a playlist with my favourite Portuguese bands. Some of them sing in Portuguese and others in English, but I can assure that everything is made in Portugal. I hope you like it and that you find some songs you really enjoy. 


Comparando Lisboa com as outras cidades portuguesas, Lisboa é uma cidade bastante grande com imensas coisas para ver, no entanto, se apenas tiverem 48 horas pela capital conseguem ver os marcos mais importantes. Por isso, hoje partilho com vocês um pequeno guia com aquilo que devem fazer se apenas tiverem dois dias pela cidade. Espero que vos ajude.

Comparing Lisbon to other Portuguese cities, Lisbon is quite a big city with loads of things to see, however, if you only have 48 hours in the capital you can totally see the major things. That's why today I'm sharing with you what do if you only have two days in the city. I hope you find it helpful.
 

  
Morning - Day 1

Uma das áreas que mais gosto em Lisboa é a Baixa e o Chiado. Comecem no Marquês de  Pombal, desçam a Avenida da Liberdade (onde podem fazer um pouco de window shopping) e vão chegar ao Rossio. Sigam pela Rua Augusta onde podem visitar o Arco para terem uma vista de 360º da cidade. A subida custa 3€. Percam-se pelas ruas lisboetas e caminhem até à Pensão Amor, um antigo bordel que é agora um bar super giro de ver. Parem para almoçar no Wish Slow Coffee House que fica apenas a 5 minutos a pé.

The neighbourhoods I like the most in Lisbon are Baixa and Chiado. Start at Marquês de Pombal, go down Liberdade Avenue (where you can do a bit of window shopping) and you will arrive at Rossio. Keep going to Augusta Street and go up the arch at the end of the street where you can have a 360º view of the city. The fee is 3€. Get lost around the Lisbon streets and walk into Pensão Amor, a former brothel that is now a very quirky bar. Stop to have lunch at Wish Slow Coffee House only 5 minutes away.
 

Afternoon - Day 1

De tarde, podem visitar a zona da Graça, um bairro onde se pode sentir a genuína atmosfera de Lisboa. Se não quiserem ir a pé, o elétrico 28 é uma opção, mas prometo que vão passar por ruas super giras se caminharem até lá. Passem pelo Castelo de S.Jorge, pelo Jardim da Cerca da Graça e pelo Miradouro Sophia de Mello Breyner Anderson onde podem ver o pôr-do-sol. Antes de jantar, façam uma pausa para uma bebida no Topo onde também vão ter uma vista lindíssima sobre a cidade. Se gostam tanto de pizza quanto eu, para jantar recomendo-vos o Popolo em Santos.

In the afternoon you can visit Graça, a neighbourhood where you can feel the real atmosphere of Lisbon. If you don't want to walk there, Tram 28 is an option, but I promise you will find super cute streets if you walk there. You will go through S.Jorge Castel, Cerca da Garça Garden and Miradouro Sophia de Mello Breyner Anderson, a viewpoint where you can stop to watch the sunset. Before dinner, you can stop for a while at Topo for a drink and a gorgeous view of the city. If you're a fan of pizza like me, for dinner I recommend Popolo at Santos. 


Morning - Day 2

Para começar o dia da melhor forma, o Fauna & Flora é um excelente café para tomar o pequeno-almoço. Se o tempo estiver a vosso favor, aluguem uma bicicleta no Cais do Sodré e sigam até Belém sempre junto ao rio. Depois do passeio de bicicleta precisam de recarregar baterias, por isso nada melhor que parar no emblemático café dos Pastéis de Belém e deliciarem-se com esta especialidade portuguesa. Em Belém podem encontrar os mais famosos monumentos portugueses, entre eles o Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Padrão dos Descobrimentos e Torre de Belém. Almocem no Este Oeste, no Centro Cultural de Belém.

To start the day in the best way possible go to Fauna & Flora to have breakfast. If the weather it's on your side, rent a bike at Cais do Sodré and go to Belém always along the river. After the bike ride, you will need some extra energy so it's the perfect timing to go to Pasteis de Belém to try the super delicious Portuguese tart. In Belém, you will find some of the most famous Portuguese monuments, like Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Padrão dos Descobrimentos and Torre de Belém. Have some lunch at Este Oeste, right at Centro Cultural de Belém.

Afternoon - Day 2

Passem uma tarde cultural nos vários museus que Belém tem para oferecer. Um dos meus favoritos é o Museu Colecção Berardo (o preço de entrada são 5€, mas é gratuito ao Sábado) e, o mais recente, o MAAT onde não se podem esquecer de visitar o terraço para uma vista lindíssima para o rio e para a Ponte 25 de Abril (o preço é também 5€). Voltem para o Cais de Sodré de comboio e jantem no Mercado da Ribeira.

Get a cultural afternoon at the different museums Belém has to offer. One of my favourites is Berardo Art Collection Museum (the fee is 5€, but it's free on Saturdays) and the most recent is MAAT where you can't forget to visit its terrace for an amazing view of the river and 25 de Abril bridge (the fee is also 5€). Get back to Cais do Sodré by train and have dinner at Ribeira Market.
