Já há algum tempo, escrevi um post sobre o poder que o batom vermelho pode ter. E, também há algum tempo atrás, li isto na Vogue: "Durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial, o único produto de beleza cuja produção não foi cancelada pelo governo foi o batom vermelho. Considerado por Winston Churchill como impulsionador moral, a sua popularidade cresceu ainda mais e acabou por se transformar num símbolo de força feminina". Realmente, tem imenso de "impulsionador moral", mas acho que todos nós passamos por uma altura em que temos, de certa, vergonha de usar certas peças ou algum tipo de maquilhagem. Normalmente acontece quando somos mais novos e ainda nos preocupamos com aquilo que as pessoas possam pensar e, para mim, o batom vermelho era um desses produtos. Um batom vermelho transmite imenso poder, é certo, mas isso também pode ser bastante intimitante. Lembrei-me disto, porque um destes dias em que estava a usar batom vermelho, me lembrei dessa altura em que o achava super intimidante, mas é maravilhoso quando essa fase passa e simplesmente usavamos aquilo que nos apetece, sem preocupções do que a outras pessoas possam pensar. Life is too short, make every day a red lipstick day!

Some months ago I wrote a post about the power of red lipstick. Some time ago I also read this on Vogue: "During World War II, the only beauty product which production wasn't cancelled by the government was the red lipstick. Considered by Winston Churchill as a morale booster, it got even more popular and it has turned into a symbol of feminine strength". It really has a lot of "morale booster", but I think we all went through a phase in our lives that we get a bit ashamed of using certain pieces or some kind of makeup product. It usually happens when we are younger and to me, red lipstick was one of those products. A red lipstick can show a lot of power for sure, but that can also be very intimidating. I was thinking about this because one of this days I was using red lipstick and I remember how I used to find it so intimidating, it's wonderful when that phase goes away and you just use whatever you want, without caring about what would other people think. Life is too short, make every day a red lipstick day!

Este fim-de-semana fiz uma pequena viagem com um grupo de amigas e fez-me pensar o quão importante são na nossa vida as amizades com pessoas do nosso mesmo sexo. Sinceramente, sinto que são dos laços mais fortes que podemos criar durante a nossa vida. Primeiro, porque ningúem vai perceber melhor o que implica ser mulher nos dias de hoje do que as tuas amigas e segundo porque não sentem que os momentos que passam juntas são os vais divertidos? Eu pelo menos sinto isso! E se pensarem um pouco mais sobre este assunto, já viram que em todos filmes de adolescentes existe um grupo de amigas. Uma das séries com mais sucesso de sempre desenvolve-se em torno de um grupo de quatro mulheres que têm sido amigas durante anos, estou a falar de Sex And The City claro. E até mesmo o grupo de amigas da Taylor Swift tornou-se algo para além disso. A amizade com as nossa amigas moldam-nos de alguma forma e ensinam-nos mais sobre ser uma mulher do que alguma vez conseguiriamos aprender sozinhas. E acabo este post com uma frase que adoro da Carrie Bradshaw e que resume este post na perfeição: "Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun".

So, this weekend I went on a trip with some of my friends and that just made me think how important female friendships are in our lives. Honestly, I feel like female friendships can be one of the strongest human bonds. First, because no one will ever understand you better than your female friends, after all, they're the only ones who actually know how it's like to be a girl in this world and second because don't you feel you always have the greatest time when you are with them? I surely do! And if you think a little bit about it, every teenage/girly movie has a group of female friends. One of the most successful tv shows is all about a group of four girls that have been friends for a very long time, Sex And The City of course. And even the group of Taylor Swift's female friends became a thing. Female friendships kind of shaped us somehow and they actually teach us more about being a woman than we could ever learn on our own. And here is a quote by the one and only Carrie Bradshaw that I always loved and really sums up this post perfectly: "Maybe our girlfriends are our soul mates and guys are just people to have fun with"

Apresento-vos o meu mais recente produto favorito! Já tinha ouvido falar maravilhas dele e, finalmente, decidi comprar o setting spray da MAC. Deixem-me vos dizer que faz toda a diferença! Então agora no Verão que a maquilhagem tem mais tendência a derreter, tem sido o meu melhor aliado. Além de ter um cheirinho óptimo, refresca a pele e dá um boost de hidratação para refrescar e acabar a maquilhagem. Confesso que só agora comecei a usar este produto na minha rotina de maquilhagem, por isso não tenho termo de comparação com os das outras marcas, mas para já tem-me surpreendido pela positiva. I present to you my newest favourite beauty product! I've heard so many things about it and I finally decided to buy the MAC's setting spray. Let me tell you that makes all the difference. And now on Summer that makeup usually starts to melt, it has been my best friend. Besides having an amazing scent, refreshes the skin and gives a moisturizer boost to refresh and finish off makeup. I confess that I only added now this product to my makeup routine so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but it really got me surprise, in a good way of course. Have you ever used this product before? What do you think about it?

No que toca a insta stories, não sou a melhor em mantê-las actualizadas. Mas adoro ver as das pessoas que sigo e acho uma excelente forma de comunicar de uma forma mais directa com os nossos seguidores. Para mim, será sempre uma ferramenta para complementar o blog e, por isso, ando sempre à procura das melhores apps para editar as minhas insta stories. When it comes to insta stores, I am not the best to update them. But I love to see the ones from the people I follow and I think it's a great way to communicate with your followers in a more direct way. To me, it will always be a tool to complement the blog and that's why I'm always on the hunt for the best apps to edit my insta stories. I finally found some that I really like and today I'm going to share them with you.

Esta é, provavelemente, a que mais uso. Além de ter imensos layouts gratuitos que tanto podem ser usados com vídeos ou fotos, tem um pack com molduras em estilo de filme que eu adoro. Tenho a certeza que sabem o que estou a falar e, além de usar para as stories, às vezes uso mesmo no meu feed (às vezes até aqui no blog, só para verem o quanto eu gosto deste pack). 
This is probably the app I use the most. Besides having loads of free layouts that you can use for photos and videos, they also have a pack with film style frames that I love. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about and I like it so much that sometimes I use it on the feed (and other times, even on the blog).

This photo is only for photos and it also gives you that film photo vibe. It's not really about editing, but it's an app that I love to use for Instagram stories. Instead of using the camera of your phone, you open this app, take the photo and then you get a film style photo.

Como sabem, no Domingo passado, fui a um brunch com algumas das minhas amigas e começamos a falar dos nossos signos. Eu nunca fui muito de prestar atenção aos signos, mas cada vez acho mais interessante. Não estou a dizer que devemos seguir o que o horóscopo diz sobre o nosso signo, mas saber algumas das características do nosso signo pode ajudar-nos a conhecer mais sobre nós próprios. Portanto, o meu signo é Virgem e identifico-me imenso com algumas das características deste signo. A primeira coisa que li e que me identifico imenso é que normalmente, as pessoas deste signo são bastante envergonhadas com pessoas novas, mas assim que ficam confortáveis, são tudo menos envergonhadas. Isto sou eu COMPLETAMENTE! Também dizem que as pessoas do signo Virgem são excelentes a dar conselhos e sabem sempre como resolver um problema. Não estou a dizer que dou os melhores concelhos do mundo, mas normalmente as pessoas procuram-me quando precisam de resolver um problema. Last Sunday as I already told you I met up with some of my girls for a brunch and we started talking about our star signs. I was never really into it, but I've been getting more and more interest by it. I'm not saying we should always believe what the horoscope says about our star sign, but knowing some characteristics of it can help us know more about oursleves. So, I am a Virgo and I can really relate to some of the things they say about my star sign. The first thing that I read and that I couldn't relate more is that Virgos are often shy around new people, however when they are comfortable, they are anything but shy. This is TOTALLY ME!!! They also say Virgos are excellent advisors, always knowing how to solve a problem. I'm not saying I give the best advices ever, but people around me usually always come to me when they need to solve a problem. Last, but not least, they say a Virgo's brain is always in overdrive, which is why we get so much shit done. I do always have a lot of things going on in my brain and maybe that's one of the reasons why I can always have a new post every day. But now tell, do you relate to your star sign? No passado Domingo foi dia para conhecer mais um novo espaço cá no Porto, o Miss Pavlova. O nome pode enganar, porque a ementa não está, de todo, restrita à pavlova. Fui lá para um brunch e fiquei mesmo surpreendida. A ementa é super variada, podem contar com panquecas, diferentes tipos de ovos, bruschettas, smoothie bowls e vários bolos. E o melhor é que está disponível todos os dias e a qualquer hora. Eu optei por uns ovos mexidos, umas panquecas com fruta, um cappuccino e um sumo natural de laranja e paguei cerca de 12€. O espaço também é super agradável, tanto o inteior como a esplanada estão com uma decoração super gira. E se estão a pensar lá ir, ficam já a saber que a Miss Pavlova fica dentro da loja Almada 13, por isso têm de percorrer a loja toda até lá chegaram (mas vale super a pena, porque a loja também é super gira). Já conheciam este espaço? Eu fiquei fã!

Last Sunday it was time to meet a new place in town, Miss Pavlova. And don't get mistaken by the name, because the menu has way more things than just the famous pavlova cake. I went there for a brunch and got really surprised. They have loads of things on the menu, you can find pancakes, different kind of eggs, bruschettas, smoothie bowls and several cakes. And the best thing is that it's available every day and at any time. I went for scrambled eggs, pancakes with fruit, a cappuccino and an orange juice and paid around 12€. The place is also very nice, the interior and the balcony are both very cute. And if you're thinking about going there, you should know that Miss Pavlova is inside the Almada 13 store, so you have to go through the whole store to get there (but the store is also very worth to take a look around). Have you ever heard about this cafe before? I became a fan!

Desta vez com menos saias e vestidos e com mais outfits de calças, o que, sinceramente, não faz muito sentido, visto que tivemos alguns dos dias mais quentes, mas, mesmo assim, este mês ainda descobri os meus calções vintage Levis e ainda criei alguns outfits com eles. Here are some outfits I shared with you lately. This time with fewer skirts and dresses and more outfits with trousers which honestly doesn't make much sense since we had some of the hottest days, but I actually found my vintage Levis shorts this month and created some outfits with them. Je ne sais quoi. Tenho a certeza que já ouviram esta expressão antes e, sim, acertaram, é uma expressão francesa. Traduzida literalmente signigica "não sei o quê". Pode ser aplicada para diferentes coisas, mas deixem-me vos dizer, as mulheres francesas têm esse 'je ne sais quoi', especialmente no que toca à forma de se vestirem. Podem estar a usar o outfit mais simples de sempre (provavelemente uma t-shirt às riscas e uns jeans) e, mesmo assim, estaram fabulosas e porquê? Porque têm esse tal 'je ne sais quoi'. Pensem por exemplo na Fraçoise Hardy - será sempre um ícone de estilo - ou então, mais recentemente, a Carolina De Maigret - autora do livro 'How To Be Parisian' que eu adoro (e explica super bem aquilo de que estou a falar) e possuidora de um estilo effortless que tantas vezes tentamos recriar. Há alguma coisa na mulheres francesas que é impossível replicar. Elas conseguem usar os básicos como ningúem e estarem sempre fantásticas. No fim de contas, acho que tudo se resume a confiança e à atitude e, claro, este 'je ne sais quoi' não é algo exclusivo às mulheres francesas, há ícones de estilo por todo o mundo, não apenas franceses. Mas é inspirador, não imaginam a quantidade de vezes que me ponho a ver fotos do estilo das mulheres francesas no Pinterest. Por isso, obrigada por me inspirarem tanto e talvez um dia, também eu consigo alcançar esse tal 'je ne sais quoi'!

Je ne sais quoi. I'm pretty sure you already heard this expression before and you guess it right, it's a French expression. It literally means "I don't know what". You can apply this to a lot of different things, but let me tell you, french girls have this 'je ne sais quoi', especially when it comes to the way they dress. They can be wearing the simplest thing ever (probably a striped t-shirt and jeans) and still look fabulous and why? Because they have the 'Je ne sais quoi'. Think about Françoise Hardy - forever a style icon - or more recently Caroline De Maigret - author of the 'How to Be Parisian' book that I truly love (it kind of explains this that I'm talking about so well) and expert on the effortless style that we try to achieve so many times. There's something about French women that no one can replicate. They rock basics like no one else and look amazing while doing it. Ultimately I think it's all about attitude and confidence and of course, this 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' is not something exclusive to French women, there are women all around the world that have it, not all style icons are french obviously. It's inspiring and I find myself looking at french girls' style on Pinterest so many times. So thank you for inspiring me so much and maybe one day I will also be able to achieve this 'Je Ne Sais Quoi'!

O Verão está aí em força e ainda temos mais uns meses desta estação do ano, por isso hojer resolvi partilhar com vocês três pares de sapatos que precisam para este Verão. Pelo menos eu, já não consigo imaginar os meus outfits sem eles e basta dar uma vista de olhos nos outfits que tenho partilhado para perceberem que, realmente, é verdade. Digam-me, concordam com as minhas escolhas? Também não vivem sem estes tipos de sapatos?

Summer is in full bloom and we still have a few more months of this season, so today I decided to share with you three pair of shoes you need for this Summer. At least I can't imagine my outfit without them and you just have to take a look at the outfits I've been sharing to know that it's true. Tell me, do you agree with my choices? Can't you also live without this kind of shoes?

FLAT SLIDES
Acho que são o tipo de sapatos que mais uso no Verão. Super fáceis de usar, super confortáveis e, sinceramente, já não consigo imaginar os meus outfits de Verão sem eles. Os da foto são a mais recente aquisição (uma compra nos saldos) e, apesar de no ínicio me terem aleijado um pouco, já são dos meus favoritos.
I think these are the kind of shoes I wear the most during Summer. Super easy to use, very comfortable and honestly I just can't imagine my Summer outfits without them. The ones on the photo are the newest acquisition (I bought them on sale) and although they have hurt my feet a bit in the begging, now they have become one of my favourites.
 
CLASSIC SNEAKERS
Também como podem perceber pelos outfits que partilho com vocês, adoro usar sapatilhas no Verão. E para ser mais concreta, as Vans Old Skool, como podem ver por exemplo NESTE outfit. Confesso que depois de as ter comprado, tornou-se muito raro usar outro tipo de sapatilhas. Para usar com saias e vestidos são o meu calçado de eleição.
As you can see from the outfits I share with you, I also love wearing sneakers in Summer. And to be more precise, the Vans Old Skool as you can see for example on THIS outfit. I confess that after buying them, it becomes very rare for me to wear any other kind of sneakers. To wear with skirts and dresses these are my go-to shoes.

BLOCK HEEL SANDALS
Quanto a sandálias, as minhas preferidas são aquelas bem simples, mas com um tacão block, mas não muito alto. As que partilhei NESTE outfit são as minhas favoritas. Não as uso tanto quanto gostaria, mas são excelentes para usar com calças por exemplo, porque dão sempre um ar mais feminino e, como sabem, eu adoro esse balanço.
Talking about sandals, my favourites are the ones that are very simple, but with a mid high block heel. The ones I shared on THIS outfit are my favourites. I don't use them as much as I would like to, but they're perfect to wear with jeans for example, because they always give a more feminine vibe and as you know I love that balance.

Peço desculpa por vos uma wishlist já tão Outonal, mas eu bem vos disse que já estava com o mood de Outono. Na verdade, a camisola já vem a caminho. De todas as peças da wishlist é a única que ainda é dos saldos e não consegui resistir, este tipo de camisolas são das peças que mais uso quando o tempo começa a arrefecer. Mas as outras três peças também vinham mesmo a calhar. Como sabem, sou doida por leopard print e se há coisa que me falta é uma saia midi. Felizmente, as novas colecções estão cheias deste padrão, por isso este Outono acho que essa falha vai ser completa. Também os baker boys hats continuam por todo o lado e no Outono são um acessório que adoro usar. E por fim, esta mala muito inspirada nas malas The Row, mas com um preço um pouco mais em conta. I'm sorry for bringing you a very Autumnal wishlist, but I told you before that I'm already in Autumn mood. Actually, this sweater is already on its way. From all the pieces on the wishlist, it's the only that it still is on sale and I just couldn't resist, this kind of sweaters are the ones I use the most when the weather starts to cool down. But I wouldn't mind having all the other pieces as well. As you know, I'm a bit crazy for anything leopard print and if there's something that I'm missing is a midi skirt. Luckily, new collections are full of this print, so I'm pretty sure this Autumn I will take care of this lack. Also, baker boy hats are everywhere and they're an accessory I love wearing on Autumn. Hoje vamos falar sobre pele. Já há algum tempo que vos queria trazer este post, mas, não sei muito bem porquê, estava sempre a adiar. Mas ora aqui estou eu, sem um pingo de maquilhagem e pronta para vos falar um pouco sobre a minha pele. Sempre que fotografo para o blog, vêm-me com maquilhagem e não é que a use diariamente, mas tenho alturas em que a minha pele está tão má que sem ela torna-se difícil. Tenho uma pele normal, mas a minha testa é a minha área mais problemática. Tenho alturas em que está bem, mas outras alturas em que fico cheia de borbulhas e isso pode mexer com a nossa confiança. Felizmente agora ando numa fase boa, mas também tenho cuidado melhor da minha pele. Os cremes que vos mostrei NESTE post também têm ajudado. Isto tudo para vos dizer que ninguém é perfeito. Todos temos coisas que gostamos menos e gostamos mais em nós próprios, só temos de nos focar naquilo que mais gostamos. Para mim são as minhas sardas que antes não gostava nada, mas aprendi a gostar delas. Não se esqueçam, são as nossas pequenas imperfeições que nos tornam únicos! E digam-me, gostavam que fizesse um post actualizado com a minha skincare routine?

Today we're going to talk about skin. I've been waiting to bring this post for a while, but I don't know why I always delay it. But here I am today without any kind of makeup, ready to talk you a bit about my skin. Every time I shoot for the blog, I'm using makeup and it's not like I use it on a daily basis, but I have periods that my skin look so bad that becomes hard not to use it. I have a normal skin, but my forehead is my most problematic area. I have periods in which my skin is looking good and then other times I just get loads of pimples on my forehead and that can really mess up with your confidence. Luckily, right now I'm on a good phase, but I've also been trying to take good care of my skin. The creams I showed you on THIS post have also been helping a lot. All of this to tell you that nobody is perfect. We all have things that we don't really like and that we like the most about ourselves. To me, it's my freckles that I really didn't like before, but I learn to love them. Embrace your flaws guys. And don't forget that those flaws are what makes us unique! Ora, aqui estou eu a partilhar mais um outfit fotografado naqueles dias super quentes. Sinceramente, não podia estar mais contente por finalmente ter arrefecido um pouco, mas mesmo assim continua a ser Verão e, neste momento, estou super pronta para o Outono. Eu juro que ia escrever sobre outra coisa, mas só consigo pensar no Outono. Olho para o casaco leopard no meu armário e só desejo poder usá-lo. Olho para as minhas botas quando vou escolher os sapatos a usar e só desejo poder usá-las em vez de sandálias. E para tornar este meu desejo pelo Outono ainda mais forte, as novas colecções começam a aparecer nas lojas e inspiram-me tanto. Os padrões estão mesmo on point (muito leopard e eu super contente com isso), diferentes estilos de jeans (tem estado tanto calor que eu sinto saudades de usar calças de ganga) e casacos fantásticos. A roupa de Outono é a melhor e ninguém me vai convencer do contrário. Vou tentar focar-me no melhor do Verão, mas no fundo estou apenas a desejar para que o Outono chegue rapidamente. Sou a única a sentir-me assim?

So, here I am sharing another Summer outfit shot in one of those heatwave days. I'm actually so glad it cooled down a bit, but it still feels like Summer and honestly I'm just so ready for Fall right now. I swear I was going to write about something else, but Autumn is all I can think abou. I look at my leopard coat standing in my closet and I just miss wearing it sooo much. I look at my boots when I go choose some airy shoes to survive the heat and I just wish I could wear them instead. And to make my desire for Autumn even stronger, the new collections are starting to hit stores and I just feel so inspired by them. The prints are looking amazing (so many leopard and I'm so happy about it), loads of different kind of jeans (it has been so hot that I actually miss wearing jeans) and amazing jackets. Autumn clothing is the best and no one will ever convince me of the opposite. I will try to focus on the best about Summer, but deep inside I'm just wishing for Autumn to arrive quickly. Am I the only one feeling this way?
