Eu adorei o resultado.

Are you ready for an overload of content about Paris? I hope so because I have lots of things to share with you. I was there last week and, of course, I had to bring my analogue camera with me. This is the final result. I hope you like the photos. I really love them.

I know most of the time the title of my posts are questions but, this time, I really mean it. I'm very curious about your answer. This last week I started a full-time job so I really want to know about it. As you know, I've been a freelancer since I stopped being a student so this is a big adjustment for me and, when I finish off my work day, I can't help but notice how miserable people look at the end of their day while they're going back home. I know this was just my first week but I've been doing my best to live my life. Of course, a big part of it it's working but I always make sure to do other things I'm passionate about. I can give you my example. Every day, before work, I always have at least one hour to read. This is very important to me because, as you know, reading is a big part of my life. And even at the end of the day, some days I go workout or meet up with friends to have a glass of wine. Working is just a part of our lives. It's something I feel like here in Portugal we forget all the time. At least, we don't have this culture of meeting up at the end of the working day to have a glass. At least, not during the week. We spend our lives looking forward to the weekend, and we forget that we actually have 5 days where we can also do things. But I really think we are always on time to change that. At least, I'm going my best. Of course, sometimes I'll stay at home watching TV and Youtube, but it's not all I do. But what about you? Are you actually living your life? Or are you living to work? I would love to know your answer but even if you don't share it with me, just think about it for a while. I really think it's super important to feel like we are living our lives and doing what we love the most.

If there's something I feel like I fail when it comes to reading is not reading many Portuguese writers. But I really want to change that and I'll do my best to read at least one each month. I've heard so many good things about Afonso Cruz, so when I saw this book, Princípio de Karenina, for sale, I bought it immediately. The book is written in the first person, a father who's writing a letter for his daughter who she never met. This letter works as an apology but also as a life story. It starts in his childhood (a time when he was always afraid of the unknown), goes through a marriage and a love story with a foreigner (this passion ends up being very important to fight all these fears), and ends in the days while he's writing the letter, showcasing us a lot of important characters. It's amazing how such a small book can have such a big and powerful story. It's also amazing how quotes that are written in such a beautiful and poetic way can be so tough. Even though this was the first book I read by Afonso Cruz, I think this is exactly why everyone likes him so much. This ability to always have these both sides. I really loved this book and can't wait to read more from him. Unfortunately, the book is only in Portuguese, but maybe it will be translated it.

To be totally honest with you, I was planning on posting something else today, but I was with no inspiration to write and, last week, I was on vacation so I have lots of photos to share with you. Last Monday, I arrived from Madeira and I still could do a lot of things the rest of the week. So here is my week in photos.

Still in Madeira, wearing one of my favourite outfits

Who knew we would come from barely no posts with analogue photos to almost two in a row? But I went on vacation and, as you know, I love to take my film camera with me to capture those moments. I was in Madeira and I had some amazing days, I think you can tell by the photos. It's an island that has a very special place in my heart and from where I always bring good memories. I hope you like the photos.

When you're a content creator and a brand wants to collaborate with you, it's fantastic. Especially when it's a brand that you love and have always dreamed of working with. But it's also amazing when you can create content just for the pure fun of it. It's fantastic when you can do both. When you do not depend on it literally to survive and make money and can be creative and do whatever you feel like doing. That's what happened in these photos. They are the result of one hour doing exactly what we wanted. Sometimes when I do this kind of photoshoot, I always have a vision and a moodboard, but this time I really let myself in the hands of Raquel. And I'm so glad I did. I really love how these photos turned out. These are all film photos. I hope you like them as much as I do. And check Raquel's work because she really is an amazing photographer.

I'm sorry, I know this is the third week in a row that I'm talking about a Colleen Hoover book but they really are f*cking good, I totally understand the hype now. This time I read Verity and let me tell you, this book is insane. It's completely different from the other two that I read before but in a good way. This one is a thriller, and it was the first time I read something like that. It tells the story of Lowen, a struggling writer when she accepts the job of a lifetime: ghostwriting the remaining books of a successful series whose writer is injured and cannot do it. Once again, I can't tell too much without giving away the story. Let's just say that the storyline is dark, the characters are flawed, and the plot is always catching you off your guard. What looks like a simple story in the beginning, quickly changes and you can feel the tension growing throughout the story. I have never read something like this, not even close. It's delicious in a completely twisted and disturbing way. I really really liked it. Now the question is: which Colleen book should I read next?

"I think the idea of me is better than the reality of me."

I'm writing this post on the day following Valentine's day, and it's incredible how harmful our society can be. And, most of the time, we don't even notice it. First, we invent a day so couples can celebrate their love. Okay, fine. It is a bit stupid in my opinion but we are all free to celebrate or not. But then, to all the girls who don't have a boyfriend, we invented Galentine's day. I've never seen so many Galentine's day posts as this year. I do think it's amazing to shift our perspectives and celebrate love overall, but yesterday, after a few seconds of scrolling on social media, I realized: only girls do this. Only girls have this need to celebrate this day and share with the world that we're not spending February 14th alone. Why isn't there a male equivalent? Honestly, I've never heard about Malentine's day, have you? Doesn't this day perpetuates the myth of the sad single women? Society tells us that if you're a woman and single then you're probably a loser and there's something wrong with you so let's create a celebration to tell the world that that is completely wrong. Because if a woman doesn't have a man to shower her with love in this day, at least she has her girlfriends to get drunk with and celebrate. Almost like, "sure, I don't have a boyfriend but I have all these female friendships, so, of course, I'm not a loser". Men don't really do this, do they? Because society tells girls that we need a man to validate our lives, men don't grow up with this kind of mindset. Society celebrates single men, whereas single women are pathetic. I really think that's the foundation of this day, otherwise, men would do it too. I think it's an amazing celebration on the outside, but if you look inside and really look into it, it's kind of a problem. Let me know your thoughts about this, I would love to  know your opinion, whether you agree with me or not.

Gostei do livro?

After reading 'It Ends with Us' by Colleen Hoover (you can read my review HERE), of course, I had to read the following book: It Starts with Us. Just like the first book, I really liked it. The only difference is that you already kind of expect what is going to happen when you start reading it. Once again, I'm not going to say much about the story itself because I don't want to spoil the first book if you haven't read it yet, but basically, this book picks up exactly where the first one ended. Was this book necessary? No, not at all. 'It Ends with Us' had the perfect ending in my opinion. Did I enjoy it? Yes, I did. I wanted to know what happened to those characters, and that's exactly what you get with this book. It's not as intense and emotional as the first one and I understand people weren't happy with it, but to be totally honest with you, I'm glad it's not. It's the calm after the storm. These characters needed to evolve and deal with all their traumas in a more serene way. It's not the typical heartbreaking book by Colleen Hoover, but I really liked it.

"Maybe the idea of love ending being a negative thing is simply a matter of perspective. Because to me, the idea that a love came to an end means that, at some point, there was love that existed."

With Valentine's day just around the corner (don't even get me started) and social media being invaded with cute couple photos, I thought it was a good time to talk about a topic I always found very interesting: soulmates. Are you on the team that believes that there's someone out in the world that is meant for you, or do you think that's a bunch of bullshit? Honestly, I think I fit into the latter. Of course, I think a soulmate is a very romantic concept. Don't blame me, I'm a girl from the late 90s who grew up with movies like Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. In a perfect world like all these fairy tales, your soulmate is just around the corner. A person you respect (and vice-versa) and that feels like home. But, as a 26-year-old, I think that's quite a stupid concept. To believe that in such a big world, you are meant to be with just one person, I think it's quite outdated. To believe that that person is your "better half" and will complete you, I think it's quite harmful actually. You shouldn't be looking for another half. You should feel complete with yourself. You should feel as a whole with your own soul.  I don't believe there are people out there that are meant for us. But I do believe there are people that are right to us. That adds something to us. Not that completes us. I believe my boyfriend is the right person for me. I believe he's the person I'm going to spend the rest of my life with (and have many dogs with), but I've never felt I was incomplete before I met him. But I would love to know your opinion: do you believe in soulmates?

Comecei então o 'Everybody Died, So I Got a Dog' da Emily Dean. A segunda parte é a parte triste. É a parte do 'Everybody Died'.

After reading a few fiction books I wanted to start a memoir so I chose 'Everybody Died, So I Got a Dog' by Emily Dean. The title is already very eye-catching and, after reading it, sums up the book perfectly (even though I felt it was more about everybody dying than the dog but it's quite understandable). The first part is about her childhood. About her unconventional family dynamic and how they were never the perfect family who had a dog. The second part is the sad part. It's the 'Everybody Died' part. It's the part that will make you cry (I actually didn't because I was on the subway when I read this part but I was definitely holding up my tears). The last part is when she got the dog. Unfortunately, it's the smallest part but will make you smile after all the terrible things you read and feel hopeful. Some people say it's a funny book but I totally disagree. Yeah, some comments will make you laugh but don't start this book thinking it's going to be a light and easy read because it's not. It deals with loss and grief and it's brutally honest. Her writing is really beautiful as well. I really enjoyed it, and totally recommend it.

I got these products a few weeks ago from the Saem brand, and I'm enjoying them so much that I thought I could share them with you. As you know, I only use cruelty-free products so this brand has that stamp, and the formulas are based on natural ingredients.

The Line

As my skin has a tendency to get dehydrated, I was advised to go for the Urban Eco Harakeke line. A line that hydrates and calms the skin. Besides the eye serum that I use the one by The Ordinary, my skincare right now is basically this line. I use it in the morning and night, and I've been feeling my skin way much more moister.

The Products

I have listed the products I'm using for you:

Urban Eco Harakeke Cleasing Foam

Urban Eco Harakeke Toner

Urban Eco Harakeke Serum

Urban Eco Harakeke Facial Cream
