As soon as this book was launched, I knew right away it was going to be my jam. First of all, because it's a collection of essays (my favourites), and second because it's written by a model/actress/badass woman that I admired a lot: Emily Ratajkowski. The book is called My Body, and it's a personal exploration of feminism, sexuality and power. She discusses the commodification of her body throughout her career, as well as the abuse and mistreatment she has faced in the model industry. To put it briefly, I liked it. She's a really good writer, and I like how she's not trying to teach anything to anyone. She's just sharing her side of the story, and maybe she's the one trying to learn something from it. I think any woman can relate to her stories, and that's what I enjoyed the most about the book. Even though she's an internationally known model, you will relate to her experiences in some way. But don't grab this book thinking it's an in-depth exploration of feminism or capilitalism because it's not. It's just a girl trying to tell her side of the story, but it's very interesting. Definitely, worth a read.

"I will proclaim all of my mistakes and contradictions, for all the women who cannot do so, for all the women we've called muses without learning their names, whose silence we mistook for consent. I stood on their shoulders to get here."

There are two types of influencers in this world: the ones who support each other and who are always there for the other, and the ones that are always hating on each other. I'm glad that IRL I'm surrounded by people who belong to the first group, but spending so much time online I can't help but find some of the second group once in a while. In times when the world gets messed up, influencers are the first ones to share the message. I personally don't do it because honestly, it gets a bit overwhelming to me but just like I said on THIS post a while ago, just because I don't share, it doesn't mean I don't care, or that I don't have an opinion. But, just like any person who still went to their jobs, influencers also had to keep sharing their usual content and paid partnerships. There's when the second type of influencers come in full force. It's crazy to me that even when we are at war, people still want to focus on hate. These influencers want to show how much better they are but are you really? If instead of sharing the message you want to pass, you decide to criticise and hate on other people? It doesn't matter if you're sharing the daily news if you're sharing your usual content, or if you decided to stop for a while, everything is okay and no one should criticize what you're doing. Let's share more love, okay?

I know this week I was a bit MIA over here but, if you follow me on Instagram, you know I was in Lisbon and that's exactly why I wasn't so active in here. But I'm back and today I'm sharing some analogue photos I took while I was there. I always love Lisbon, it has such a different vibe from Porto. I hope you like the photos, and I can't wait to go back to this city I love so much,

To be honest with you, I've never heard anything about this book so, obviously, it wasn't on my reading list, but Fnac kindly sent me The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco and I decided to give it a chance. It's a historical novel and tells the story of several crimes that happen in a Benedicinte monastery. Franciscan friar Willian of Baskerville is called to investigate what was happening at the monastery, however, the successive deaths of monks changes his investigation. All of this happens throughout seven days, the time when the story develops. I'm not going to lie, it's a very hard book. First of all, because it's very big, second because it has loads of characters that are very hard to keep up with, and it was also hard for me because it's not the typical book I'm used to reading. It's not super engaging, it's a very slow-paced story. I enjoyed it for the most part but also find it a bit dissaponting. It's not my cup of tea.

A few days ago, I shared on my Instagram a few things that cheered me up on that day and I thought about doing that here as well. The world is crazy right now and social media can feel so heavy and just a source of anxiety. Even though it's very important to be informed, it's also very important to know when to shut off in order to keep our mental health. So here are five things that I consumed recently that really helped me shut off and cheered me up. I'm pretty sure we all need that right now.

The month is coming to an end so it's time to share my monthly playlist. The February playlist is full of songs I love, starting with Hard Drive Gold by Alt-J that I love so much, actually, I have to listen to their new album that they just launched. And still, in the vibe of the new songs, I also love the new song by Rosalía. I also have some older songs that I rediscovered, but you can listen to everything down below as usual. I hope you like them.

When the world was at war before, we just kept dancing...and we'll do it again". Let's all dance together.

After hours of thinking about what to write about today, I decided to write about the only thing that is going through my mind right now: this war that is happening in the 21st century in my own continent. I like to think of this blog as an escape, a place you can visit to forget about reality and what is happening in the world, but when something like this happens I can't help but put everything into perspective. Everything I do suddenly looks so superficial to me. My outfits, my topics with my first world problems, everything looks so ridiculous but here I am sharing another outfit with you. The truth is that life still goes on and we have to keep doing what we love the most. Like Lana Del Rey says in one song that I really love and that I shared yesterday on my Instagram: "When the world was at war before, we just kept dancing...and we'll do it again". That's it. We have to keep dancing, we have to keep singing, we have to keep strolling around and doing what we love the most. It's going to be hard at first, I feel very weird posting these photos of myself right now, but I will keep dancing. I will keep doing my thing as long as I am able to. Let's all dance together.

As a freelancer, it's really important to me to have a space where you know you can work for hours and be productive. I actually think it's really important to have your work sanctuary and to me has to be clean, minimalist but also inspiring, it can really play a huge role in your productivity. So I really wanted to jazz up this desk area a little bit. The first thing I did was change the chair. I got one a bit more comfortable and that goes along with the whole bedroom a bit better. The second thing I did was add a bit of art to my walls. Desenio always has the best prints so I added these three ones:

A New Story Poster

Majestic Pillars Poster

Atelier Noir Poster

I wanted to maintain the minimalist vibe of the room so I think these three posters are the perfect addition to this wall. And something I really like about Desenio is that besides the posters, you can also buy the frames for your posters. I choose these black ones, very simple but go along very well with the posters.

A primeira rede social que me lembro é o Hi5. E, entretanto, podem sempre encontrar-me neste blog.

I don't know where you live but here in Europe there's a big chance that we will no longer have one of my favourite social media apps a.ka. Instagram which made me think about all the social media apps where we had our profiles before. Apps that appeared with the promise to be the next big thing but quickly became a RIP. The first social media app I can remember is Hi5. I was really young when Hi5 appeared, so I wasn't really allowed to be there but, obviously, as any teenager who wants to belong somewhere, I had my profile. I think it was where I had the most fun, and I think it was where my love for photography began. Then it came Facebook. I don't really use it anymore (does anyone?), but it was also a very important social media app to me. Instagram was a bit different. I always looked at Instagram as an extension of my blog. It was (and still is) the place to share my newest posts, and also my outfits. Other social media apps appear in the meantime. Apps that looked like they were going to replace these main ones but it really wasn't the case. The first one that comes into my mind is Clubhouse. Do you still remember it? It wasn't such a long ago and there was so much fuzz about it. Some people actually thought it was going to replace Instagram (lol). RIP. The last social media app I joined was TikTok. I came late to the party and, at first, I thought it wasn't really for me, but the truth is that I really like it, and I'm having a lot of fun creating content over there. All of this is to say that even though Instagram and all those other social media apps disappear in the future, others will come. It's not the end of the world. And you can always find me here, in this blog. It's not a social media app, but it's where I share the most about myself. So you are always welcome.

I have read some really good reviews about this book on social media and after going to Poetria (a really good book store here in Porto), I decided to bring it with me. The book I'm talking about is 'A Gorda' (which means the fat one) by Isabel Figueiredo. Unfortunately, there's no English translation but I will talk a bit about it anyway. The book is pretty much a diary of Maria Luísa, the main character. A woman who's beautiful, smart, with a very strong personality but fat. It's a book that touches on topics such as bullying, the feeling of belonging nowhere, loneliness, and also show us how our look has a huge impact on our lives. It's a simple story, but simple stories also need to be told. I confess that by the end I lost a bit of interest in the book because it started being quite repetitive. But it's so well written, I really loved that. The writing is very beautiful and elegant, but raw and rough at the same it. It's not a perfect book, and I think some of the reviews I read before were a bit too much, but I liked it and recommend it.

Own it. Luta por isso. Conversa com as pessoas sobre isso. Todos devíamos ser feministas. Ponto final.

This post was inspired by something that was on national TV and I don't really want to publicize it because it came from a politician whose party I'm very much against, but I'll just say that, unfortunately, there are a lot of people who are still afraid of feminism or to be called a feminist. I'm not even going to explain what it means to be a feminist because if you read this blog, I'm sure you already know it, but it's sad to see so many people (and it's even sadder when it comes from women) so afraid of it. I understand that the word feminist is very much associated with a stereotype. but it's our job to fight against it. You say feminist and a lot of people will think about angry women, who hate men, that don't take care of themselves, who are always shouting and protesting. Well, they sure can be all of that. But a feminist is whoever wants to be. It's me. It's you. Your friends. It's a constant fight and we can't be afraid of it. We have to be proud of fighting for equal rights and opportunities. There's no "I'm a feminist, but...". There are "no buts". Own it. Fight for it. Discuss with people about it. We all should be feminists. Period.
