A while ago, I share with you some photographers I follow on Instagram that inspire me a lot through their photos (you can see that post HERE). At the time, I ended up not mentioning some accounts that I also love, so today I bring you the second part of that post. If you like this kind of posts, I have more accounts that I can share with you, so tell me on comments below. And by the way, do you know any other photographers that I should follow?

The reading of literature classics keeps going strong, and the last one I read was 1984 by George Orwell. I really loved it, but it's one of the most frightening books I have ever read. I can totally understand why it's such a classic. 1984 is a dystopian novel and is set in Airstrip One (formerly Great Britain), whose residents are victims of perpetual war, public manipulation and government surveillance. Working, eating, thinking, talking, all are controlled by the state. Even language is modified in such ways so you cannot express yourself. There is no real truth. The truth is what the state says it is. It's a very scary book and it explores a lot of things that we can see happening in the world today. I say this because, deep down, we're also controlled by our government, and often in ways, we are not consciously aware of. Also, nowadays, we kinda are being watched by our phones/computers, all our information is saved, and that reminded me a bit of the surveillance talked about in the book. Obviously, 1984 takes it to the extreme, but it's scary anyway. All of this made me really love the book. A classic you won't want to miss.

Mas agora digam-me, têm alguma peça favorita desta wishlist?

As I said to you before, the decor-related posts are going to appear here more often since I moved house. Little by little the house is turning into a home, and today I'm sharing with you my wishlist with some things I really wouldn't mind having. These are all very small things, we rented a house so most of the things were already here, but there are always some things you can add to make it more your own. Once everything is ready, if you'd like it, I'll share some photos of the house with you. But now tell me, do you have a favourite piece from the wishlist?

I haven't talked about this topic here before and, to be honest, I don't really know how to do it. But I also know I have to do it. We're living a time when we are all waking up to racism. We are educating ourselves, we are realizing how our society really is, and admitting that even ourselves have said something racist in the past. I know I have and the first step to creating a better society is to admit our mistakes. I'm sure you were all aware of #BlackoutTuesday. All our feeds were invaded with little black squares and, even though I think it was a good initiative, I decided not to join it. I've made this decision because I don't think we will change anything this way. It was such a huge trend that most people were posting the black square just because. They posted it because they felt they had. They posted because they were afraid they would be called racist if they didn't. I even considered posting it, but I don't want to be just another one. I want to change my behaviour and I have to do it in real life. And that's exactly what I've been doing. Every time I find something useful with relevant information (and that hasn't been posted a million of times before), I will post it on my Stories, every time I feel I have to say something I will write about it here and, meanwhile, I will be educating myself so one day we can live in a society where equality rules.

So, today is time to talk about another book, and against the other times, today I'm talking about a book I really didn't enjoy. I'm talking about Bluets by Maggie Nelson. Bluets examinates love and loss through the lens of the colour blue. It's a collection of shorts thoughts and briefs paragraphs, and, to be honest, I didn't think they had that much connection between them, they just felt very random. I felt as if the author was trying too hard. I felt like she was trying to write things that are smart, but she ends up sounding very sad and depressed. Sure, there are some beautiful quotes, and it's really well written, almost like a poem, but, in my opinion, the book didn't flow. I didn't drop it, it's a very short book so you can easily read it in just one day, but I don't really recommend it. I had really high expectations for this book, so maybe that's why I feel this way, but I just didn't connect with it at all.

"If I were today in my deathbed, I would name my love of the colour blue and making love with you as two of the sweetest sensations I knew on this earth."

I know I say this every time I post a new 'film diary', but I'm really in love with this new camera I've been using (you can already read everything about it on THIS post). I've been trying new films, and I love to see the different results. On this diary, you can see some photos from days spent at the beach, the moving day (as I already told you, I moved house), and some bits from the new house. I hope you like the photos. And by the way, are you a fan of analogue photography? Tell me in the comments below.

Contem-me tudo!

Now that I moved house and I had to select some pieces of clothing to bring with me, I realized how hard it is to let go of some clothes. I know I haven't been wearing them in a while and most of them are just laying in the wardrobe for months, but some pieces of clothing just remind me of a certain moment, and for that reason, I can't get rid of them. It can be a dress that I wore for the first time in London (and it reminds of that trip) or a piece of clothing that someone gave to me. Most of those clothes I didn't even bring with me, because deep down I know I will not wear them again, but I also don't want to give them away. It's funny how something so simple as a piece of clothing can get so much emotional charge. As I already said, this happens to me, mostly, with pieces of clothing that remind of trips. Does this also happen to you? Which piece in your wardrobe you can't get rid of? Tell me everything!

I'm going through a phase where I'm reading literature classics, and Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov was one of them. I watched the movie a few months ago, and since then that I really wanted to read the book. For the ones not familiar with the story, Lolita is a 12-years-old teenager that after her mom's death, has to live with her stepfather, a paedophile that abuses her. By this, I think you can realize it's quite a strong and shocking story, and in some chapters it really is, but I found it a bit boring. Too many details and a lot of French sentences which, for me, was quite annoying since I don't know French. However, I can understand why it's such a classic. It could have been a very repulsive story, but Nabokov can make you not really hate the character of the stepfather, and only a genius could have done that. It's definitely not a book for everyone. I know some people who couldn't even finish it, and I know people who loved it. Honestly, I don't know what I think about it. I never felt like dropping it, it's definitely not on my list of favourite books ever, but I can appreciate how stunningly disturbing this book is.

"It was love at first sight, at last sight, at ever and ever sight."

"Millennials must not join TikTok, I feel very strongly about this. Very boomers joining Instagram, very ungroovy. We must pass the baton on with grace and composure."

"Millennials must not join TikTok, I feel very strongly about this. Very boomers joining Instagram, very ungroovy. We must pass the baton on with grace and composure." This is a tweet by Dolly Alderton, a journalist that I love and that it's always very funny. Obviously, this tweet is very sarcastic, but, deep down, it gives a message that I totally agree with. I'm sorry if you have TikTok, but most of the videos are just very cringy. Of course, I'm generalizing, there are some videos that are actually quite funny to watch, but the dance videos, that I assume are the most popular videos on TikTok, I just don't get them. Kids/teenagers doing them, okay. Now, people my age or older doing them is just cringe. Do you think we are to TikTok, like our parents are to Facebook? You know what I mean, right? I know that you should never say never, and maybe one day you will find me on this social media app, but now I can affirm that I will never have a TikTok account.

As I've told you before, I'm really into doing necklaces right now. It's a very easy DIY, and you get new accessories for a very cheap price. I really love beaded necklaces, and I think they're perfect for summer, they look great with swimwear or with some basic T-shirts. So just keep scrolling to learn how I do my beaded necklaces.

Some of the things you need, I'm sure you already have at home, like scissors for example. The other stuff cost me less than 5€. I found everything at a local store, and with that material, I can do a lot of necklaces and bracelets. You can also find everything at AliExpress.

As promised, today I will talk about my new analogue camera, the Miranda MS-1 Super with a 50mm 1.2 lens. As I already told you, it's fully manual (from the settings to the focus), and the truth is that I already have it for a couple of years, however, shooting daily with a point&shoot is way easier (you can read more about my point&shoot camera HERE), but the quality is also very different, that's why I'm so in love with this manual camera.

Where To Buy

A minha comprei numa loja aqui no Porto, no Sítio do Cano Amarelo.

As I already told you, I have it for a very long time. These are cameras that are not fabricated anymore, and this brand doesn't even exist now, but you just have to take a look at the different photography shops. I bought this one in a store here in Porto, Sítio do Cano Amarelo. They always have loads of cameras, but you can also find it at eBay.

Today I write from another place. Usually, I write from my mom's house, where I used to live, but now I write from a house I can call my own. You probably already knew this if you follow me on Instagram, but it's true, I moved, and I'm very excited about this new step in my life. All my life I lived with my parents, even in college I stayed with them, so this is a whole new experience for me and something that I really wanted since I'm going to live with my boyfriend. We've made this decision a couple of months ago, and I was very excited to tell you.  I made the move these last couple of days, and I took a few analogue photos, so you will see everything in the next film diary.  So, from now on, you can expect some decor-related posts, I already have a huge wishlist. I can now understand how it feels to want everything for every damn website! I'm really excited about this, even though we're living some strange times, there is always something to cheer us up.
