Trabalhar de casa não é novidade nenhuma para mim. Já há algum tempo que faz parte do meu dia-a-dia, mas pode ser algo novo para vocês neste momento. Já escrevi há uns tempos um post com dicas para serem produtivos quando trabalham de casa (podem ler esse post AQUI), mas hoje dou-vos algumas dicas de como manter uma rotina quando trabalham a partir de casa. Espero que vos sejam úteis.

Working from home is nothing new for me. It's part of my daily life for a few years, but it can be something new for you right now. A couple of months ago I wrote a post with some tips on how to productively work from home (you can read that post HERE), but today I have for you some tips to create a routine while you're working from home. I hope you find them useful.

Wake-Up At The Same Time

É certo que se trabalham em casa não se têm de preocupar em apanhar os transportes públicos a tempo ou se têm tempo para se arranjarem de manhã, mas, para mim, é bastante importante acordar mais cedo e à mesma hora todos os dias. Criem uma rotina matinal como se tivessem de estar no escritório a uma certa hora.

When you're working from home, you don't have to rush out of the door to catch the public transportations on time or make sure you have enough time to get ready in the morning, but it's extremely important to me to wake up early and at the same time every day. Create a morning routine like you had to be at the office at a certain time.



Write To-Do Lists

Eu sou do tipo de pessoa que escreve listas para tudo. Não consigo funcionar sem elas, especialmente quando trabalho em casa onde as distrações são imensas. Desta forma, consigo ter uma visão clara daquilo que tenho de fazer e manter-me focada.

I'm the kind of person that creates lists for everything. I can't function without them, especially when I work from home where the distractions are endless. This way I can have a clear vision of what I have to do, and keep focus.





Set Break Times

Fazer pausas é essencial para nos mantermos produtivos ao longo do dia. Podemos, por vezes, cair no erro de comer em frente do computador, mas tira tempo do teu dia para fazer as diferentes refeições. E, por exemplo, se tiveres uma varanda, algo que eu adoro fazer é tomar um café e fazer um intervalo de 10/15 minutos lá.

Setting break times is essential to keep your productivity throughout the day. Sometimes we can make the mistake of having lunch in front of the computer, but take some time to have proper meals. And, if you have a balcony, why not set some breaks of 10/15 minutes to have a coffee over there.

Motherwell by Deborah Orr

Já a mencionei por aqui várias vezes, mas se querem boas sugestões de livros, sigam a Lizzy Hadfield. Ela falou deste livro num dos seus vídeos e fiquei logo convencida por ser uma biografia. É o meu género favorito e explora como nos devemos descobrir como indivíduos.

I already talked about her several times before, but if you want good book recommendations, you have to follow Lizzy Hadfield. I think she talked about this book in one of her videos, and it got me right away since it's a memoir. It's my favourite type of book and talks about self-exploration.

Dress Your Family In Corduroy And Denim by David Sedaris

Acho que todos precisamos de rir um pouco neste momento e, como tal, ninguém melhor que o David Sedaris. Já li vários dos seus livros (podem ler aqui no blog algumas reviews dos mesmos) e o próximo será este. Tal como os outros livros do autor, é um conjunto de ensaios pessoais.

I think we all need to laugh a bit right now and no one better than David Sedaris to help us do that. I already read a few of his books (you can read some of my reviews here on the blog), and this one is going to be the next. Like all of his other books, it's a roundup of personal essays. 

Atonement by Ian McEwan

Também este livro descobri num dos meus podcasts favoritos (The High Low) e a curiosidade fez-me adicioná-lo à minha lista. Passa-se em três diferentes períodos na Inglaterra e parece-me mesmo muito interessante.

I also found out about this book in one of my favourite podcasts (The High Low), and I was so curious about it that I had to add it to my list. It takes place in three different periods of time in England, and it sounds very interesting.

Depois de no início do ano ter feito o primeiro On My Camera Roll e ter tido uma resposta muito positiva, hoje trago-vos mais um com fotos dos últimos meses. Sabe bem olhar para todas estas fotografias, pensar em todos estes momentos e saber que vamos ter mais momentos como estes no futuro. Espero que gostem das fotos e não se esqueçam de se manterem positivos.

After doing on the beginning of the year the first On My Camera Roll and having such a great response, today I bring you another one with photos from the last couple of months. Com Londres como pano de fundo, Fleabag é uma série que vos vai pôr a rir em todos os episódios. Já conta com duas temporadas e é uma série mesmo muito divertida. Os prémios que tem ganho só compravam o quão genial esta série é.

With London as background, Fleabag is a TV show that will make laugh every single episode. There are already two seasons available, and it's really funny. The awards that this TV show has won just prove how genius it is.

What: Gilmore Girls
Where: Netflix
Gimore Girls é uma série já com alguns anos e foca-se na relação entre uma mãe e filha. Lembro-me de a ter visto na altura e foi uma série que gostei mesmo muito. Está agora disponível na Netflix e, se estão com tempo, têm sete temporadas para ver. Eu acho que vai ser daquelas séries que vou rever brevemente.

Gilmore Girls is quite an old TV show and focuses on the relationship between a mom and her daughter. I remember watching it at the time, and it was a TV show that I really loved. It's now available on Netflix, and if you have the time, you have seven seasons to watch. I really think it's one of those TV shows that I'm going to rewatch very soon.

Já é do ano passado, mas, se não viram, esta é a série a acrescentarem à vossa lista. Para perceberem o quão cativante é, Russian Doll foi a única série que vi em apenas um dia. Os episódios são curtos, mas a história prende-vos mesmo ao ecrã.

It was launched last year, but if you haven't watched it, you have to add it to your list. Just for you to realize how captivating it is, Russian Doll was the only TV show I watched in just one day. The episodes are very short, but the plot is so interesting that it's impossible to stop.

What: Killing Eve
Where: Hulu
Tenho a certeza que já ouviram falar de Killing Eve, é uma série que tem tido bastante sucesso e consigo perceber porquê. A meu ver, é uma série bastante diferente de tudo aquilo que eu já vi e mesmo muito interessante.

I'm sure you already heard about Killing Eve, it's a TV show that has a lot of success, and I can totally understand why. To me, it's a very unique TV show, and very different from everything I have ever watched.

Esta é a altura perfeita para porem a par as vossa leituras e, além de encontrarem várias recomendações na categoria 'Book Club' aqui no blog, os posts com as minhas mais recentes leituras vão continuar. Hoje venho-vos falar do 'Daisy Jones & The Six' e foi um livro que adorei. Retrata a história de uma banda fictícia dos anos 60/70 e a história está tão bem escrita que parece mesmo que esta banda existiu. É daqueles livros que não conseguem parar de ler. É escrito em género de entrevista e mostra as diferentes perspectivas dos membros da banda, sendo que se foca na relação entre o vocalista da banda. Billy Dunne, e Daisy Jones que se junta à banda mais tarde. Resumindo, é sex, drugs and rock&roll. Mas, além de ter adorado toda a história da banda, adorei também o facto de todas as personagens femininas serem bastante poderosas. Tem imensas mensagens feministas e mostra como podemos ser mais fortes se nós, mulheres, nos apoiarmos umas às outras. Para minha alegria, descobri que irá ser lançada uma série com base neste livro. Até a série ser lançada, podem sempre ler o livro o que vos recomendo a 100%. Um dos meus livros favoritos.

This is the perfect time to catch up with all our readings and, besides having a lot of book recommendations on the 'Book Club' category here on the blog, the posts with the books I'm currently reading will keep coming. Today I'm talking about 'Daisy Jones & The Six', a book that I loved. It tells the story of a fictional band on the 60s/70s, and it's so well-written that it feels like this band really existed. It's one of those books that you just can't put down. It's written in an interview format, it shows the different perspectives of the band members, and it focuses a lot on the relationship between the lead singer, Billy Dunne, and Daisy Jones that joins the band later. Summing up, it's all about sex, drugs and rock&roll. But, even though I loved the plot, something that really got my attention was how powerful all the feminine characters are. It's a book with a lot of feminine messages, and it shows how strong we can be if we support each other. I found out that there's going to be a tv show based on this book, and I couldn't be happier about it. Until it's not out, you can read the book which I totally recommend. One of my favourite books.

Numa altura em que o coronavírus é notícia constante, torna-se difícil desviar-me deste assunto por aqui. Seria estranho para mim escrever sobre outra coisa qualquer, quando este assunto está a afectar tantas pessoas. Eu mesma, neste momento, devia estar a caminho de Lisboa e foi uma viagem que cancelei por precaução. No entanto, este blog sempre foi para mim um sítio onde me posso distrair um pouco daquilo que está a acontecer e sempre pensei que podia fazer o mesmo por vocês. Porque, apesar do vírus ser algo que temos todos de enfrentar, também sabe bem desligar, nem que seja por apenas alguns minutos. Não imaginam o quão bem me soube ver um episódio de 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' no intervalo do telejornal, de ver algo leve e não pensar no vírus por alguns minutos. Não estou com isto a dizer que não nos devemos manter informados, mas saibam também quando se devem "desligar" e, nessas alturas, podem sempre vir aqui ler o meu blog que eu prometo que esta é a última vez que falo sobre este assunto. Stay safe!

Coronavirus is the main subject nowadays, and it would be weird for me not to talk about it. It would be stupid to write about something else without mentioning it since it's something that it's affecting so many people. I should, right now, be on my way to Lisbon, but I decided to cancel it for precaution. However, this blog always was, for me, a place where I could distract myself from what was going on, and always thought that could do the same for you. Because, even though the virus it's something we all have fo face right now, it also feels good to shut down, even if just for a few minutes. You can't imagine how good it felt to watch an episode of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' during the new's break. It felt really good to just watch something lighter, and forget about the virus for a few minutes. I'm not saying that we shouldn't keep yourselves informed, but we should know when we need to shut down, and during those times you can come here and read my blog because I promise this is the last time I'll talk about it. Stay safe!

Eu sei que hoje, normalmente, é dia de partilhar com vocês um outfit, mas estava tão entusiasmada para partilhar estas fotos com vocês que teve mesmo de ser. Aqui estão então as fotos analógicas que tirei na Madeira. Muitas fotos do mar, eu sei, mas foi mesmo inevitável. Utilizei um rolo de filme que nunca tinha utilizado, o Kodak Gold 200, e gostei imenso do resultado. Para mais dicas sobre a Madeira, podem ler ESTE post. Espero que gostem das fotos.

I know that I was supposed to post an outfit today, but I was so excited to share these photos with you that I really had to. So here are the analogue photos I took while I was in Madeira. A lot of photos of the sea, I am aware of that, but it was inevitable. I used a film that I've never used before, the Kodak Gold 200, and really liked the result.
