Não imaginam o quão ansiosa estava para ver estas fotografias. Mal cheguei a Portugal, foi a primeira coisa que fiz: deixar os rolos a revelar. Fotografei imenso enquanto estive por Londres (um rolo por dia), por isso vou dividir as fotografias em dois posts diferentes. Estas são do primeiro dia (em que andámos pela zona de Shoreditch) e também algumas do segundo dia. Se quiserem saber mais alguma coisa sobre a viagem, deixem nos comentários que eu respondo sempre a tudo!

You can't imagine how excited I was to see these photos. It was the first thing I did as soon as I arrived in Portugal: drop the film to develop. I shot a lot while I was in London (a film each day), so I will do two different posts with the photos. These ones are from the first day (when we were around Shoreditch) and also a few from the second day. É impressionante as diferentes coisas que podem influenciar/inspirar o nosso estilo. E é também engraçado ver como cada cidade tem um impacto diferente no mesmo. Tal como nos habituamos a novos ambientes, ou a novas rotinas, parece que o mesmo acontece com o nosso estilo. Eu, pelo menos, sinto que isso acontece comigo. Basta olhar para as últimas duas cidades que visitei. Se em Paris os meus outfits foram todos bastantes femininos, estes que vos vou mostrar fotografados em Londres são bem mais relaxados e talvez um pouco mais edgy. Sinto-me mesmo como um camaleão que vai absorvendo todas as influências da cidade e é extremamente inspirador. Mas digam-me, o que acham deste outfit? Adorava saber a vossa opinião!

It's amazing how so many things can influence/inspire our style. And it's also very funny how each city can change it. Just like we get used to new environments or new routines, it seems like the same happens to our personal style. I mean, it definitely happens to me. Let's just take a look at the last two cities that I visited. If in Paris my style was very feminine, these outfits I'm going to share with you that I shot in London are a bit more relaxed and even a bit edgier. I really feel like a chameleon that feeds from all the influences of a city, and that's very inspiring to me. But tell, what do you think about this outfit? I would love to know your opinion!

Se me seguem no Instagram, viram que este fim-de-semana estive por Londres. Não é novidade nenhuma que adoro esta cidade e, como tal, criei imenso conteúdo enquanto estive por lá. Tenho imensas coisas para partilhar com vocês, mas vamos começar por um café que adoro. Chama-se Eggbreak e fica na zona de Notting Hill. Já lá fui duas vezes e adorei sempre. Claro que devem experimentar os ovos, são maravilhosos. Fomos então lá para pequeno-almoço e por um cappuccino, panquecas e ovos Benedict (estes dois últimos decidimos partilhar) paguei cerca de 18£. Passem por lá se estiverem por Londres, é mesmo muito bom.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I was in London this last weekend. It's a city that I love (nothing new here), and I created a lot of content while I was there. I have a lot of things to share with you, but let's start with a cafe that we went to, and that I really love. I'm talking about Eggbreak, and it's around the Notting Hill area. I already went there twice and loved it always. You should obviously try the eggs if you go there, they're delicious. We went there for breakfast and for a cappuccino, pancakes and eggs benedict (that we decided to share) I paid around 18£. It really is an amazing place, make sure to check it out if you're in London.

Depois de ler alguns romances, voltei aos meus tão adorados livros de memórias e não podia ter feito melhor escolha. Estive então a ler o 'The Rules Do Not Apply" da Ariel Levy. Não é um livro muito grande, por isso a leitura é bastante rápida, mas não é por isso que a história deixa de ser impactante e profundamente comovente. Como já tinha mencionado quando falei deste livro num post sobre a minha reading list, o livro retrata a vida de Ariel, mas foca-se numa altura da sua vida em que perde a sua casa, a sua esposa e o seu filho. O livro começa desta forma, por isso não é nenhum spoiler, mas o que é realmente comovente é perceberem como tudo isto acontece ao longo da leitura do livro. Como ela passa de uma mulher que tem tudo aquilo que sempre quis, a perder tudo e ser deixada apenas com uma dor profunda. É um livro sobre perda e luto, mas sem ser demasiado pesado. Vocês sabem o quanto eu gosto de livros de memórias e este está, sem dúvida, no meu top 3.

After reading a few novels, I'm back to my beloved memoirs, and I couldn't have made a better choice. I was reading "The Rules Do Not Apply" by Ariel Levy. It's not a very big book, so it's a very quick read, but that doesn't mean the story isn't moving, it's actually the opposite. As I already mentioned when I talked about this book on a 'reading list' post, this book is about Ariel's life and focus on a time of her life when she loses her house, her spouse and her son. The book starts telling you all this, so it's not a spoiler, but what it's really heartbreaking is realizing how all this happens while you're reading the book. How she goes from a woman who has everything she always wanted, to being left with huge pain. It's a book about grief and loss, but I never felt that it was too heavy. You know how much I love memoirs and this one is definitely on my top 3.

Vamos recuar 92 anos. Estamos em 1927 e as mulheres não podiam votar. Apenas os homens podiam exercer o seu direito ao voto e as mulheres, vistas como um ser inferior, estavam proibidas de o fazer. Esta é apenas uma das razões pelas quais sempre que existe alguma eleição, eu voto. Porque se hoje em dia o podemos fazer, é porque alguém lutou por isso. E como mulher e feminista que sou, se não o fizesse, sentiria que estava a desiludir essas mulheres. Seria o mesmo que, um dia, quando atingirmos a igualdade salarial, uma mulher dizer: "não obrigada". Desde as últimas eleições que queria escrever este post, porque impressiona-me a quantidade de jovens que decide não exercer o seu direito de voto neste país. Pela negativa, claro. É chocante. Triste até. É o único instrumento que temos para decidir aquilo que é melhor para a nossa sociedade e, simplesmente, decidimos não o usar.  Eu sei que é muito fácil inventar desculpas para não ir votar, inventar desculpas é a especialidade dos seres humanos, eu própria tinha uma excelente desculpa para estas eleições, não vou estar em Portugal este Domingo. Mas consegui fazer o meu voto antecipado e votei no Domingo passado. Por isso, por favor, este Domingo, votem. Pode ser difícil de acreditar, mas podem mesmo fazer a diferença. Não sei se com este post mudei a opinião de alguém, mas se pelo menos um de vocês for votar por ter lido isto, já sinto o dever cumprido.

Let's back up 92 years. We're on the '20s and women couldn't vote. Only men had the right to vote and women, seen as inferior, were forbidden from doing it. This is only one of the many reasons why I always vote when there's some kind of election. Because if today I'm able to do it, is because someone fought for it. And as a woman and feminist, if I didn't do it, I would feel like I was letting those women down. It's the same as, on the day that we achieve equal pay, a woman says: "no thanks". Since the last elections that I've been waiting to write this post because the number of young people who decide not to vote is impressive. It's chocking. Even sad. It's the only tool we have to decide what it's best for our society, and we just decide not to use it. I know it's very easy to get excuses, we, human beings, are specialists on that, but we have to stop it. So every time there's an election, please vote, you can really make a difference. I don't know if I changed anybody's' mind with this post, but if at least one of you decides to vote because of this post, then I already feel like I did the right thing writing this.

Estes últimos outfits que partilhei com vocês já mostram bem a transição para o Outono. Se alguns deles são vestidos e sandálias, outros já são camadas e botas. Mas digam-me, apesar dessas diferenças, qual é o vosso favorito? Como sabem, adoro esta altura do ano, por isso, os meus favoritos são aqueles com mais camadas, mas adorava saber a vossa opinião. These last outfits I shared with you perfectly showcase the transition to Autumn. If some outfits are all about dresses and sandals, others are layers and boots. Qualquer pessoa que goste de moda adora o Outono. É uma altura do ano em que realmente podemos brincar mais com a nossa roupa e eu tenho certas peças que não dispenso no meu armário durante esta estação do ano. São cinco peças intemporais e funcionam como uma base se quiserem experimentar com algumas tendências. Digam-me, têm mais algum must-have que eu não tenha mencionado?

Anyone who likes fashion likes Autumn. It's a time of the year when we can really play with our clothes, and I have some pieces of clothing that I need to have on my wardrobe during this season. These are five pieces that withstand the test of time and work as a foundation to accommodate some of the newer trends.  Tell me, do you have other must-haves that I didn't mention?


1. Blazers

Se há peça de roupa da qual sinto saudades durante os meses mais quentes são os meus blazers. Um blazer preto acho mesmo essencial (este foi das minhas melhores compras de sempre), mas podem sempre optar por outras cores ou outros padrões. Gosto muito de blazers com o padrão xadrez, leopardo (nada de novo aqui) e em bombazine.

If there's a piece of clothing I miss wearing during Summer is a blazer. I really think a black one is an essential (this one was one of my best purchases ver), but you can always opt for other colours or prints. I really like blazers in a check print, leopard (obviously) and corduroy.

2. Trench Coat

Como já vos tinha disto neste post, nesta altura do ano não dispenso um trench coat. É certo que os dias de chuva se aproximam, por isso, além de ser um casaco bastante elegante, é também o vosso melhor amigo nesses dias.

As I already told you on this post, by this time of the year I can't live without a trench coat. Like it or not, rainy days are coming and, besides being a very elegant coat, is also going to be your best friend on those days.



3. Jeans

Por esta altura, acho que já sabem que no que toca a calças de ganga a minha escolha é sempre ou straight-leg ou wide-leg. São um clássico e ficam bem com qualquer coisa do vosso armário.

By now, I'm sure you already know that, when it comes to jeans, my favourites are straight-leg or wide-leg. They're a classic and look good with anything in your closet.

4. White Shirt

Na verdade, a camisa branca é, para mim, um must-have durante todo o ano, mas nas estações mais frias, além de a usar por baixo de casacos, é também uma excelente peça para brincar com camadas.

To be honest with you, in my opinion, a white shirt is a must-have all year round, but during the colder seasons is an amazing piece to play with some layers.

5. Ankle Boots

E, por fim, ankle boots. Há imensos modelos diferentes e é só escolher as vossas favoritas. Eu adoro as clássicas Chelsea boots ou então as cowboy boots.

And last but not least, ankle boots. There are loads of different models, the hard thing is to choose your favourites. I really like the classic Chelsea boots or the cowboy boots.
