Já por aqui falei muitas vezes sobre o Diplomata e das suas famosas panquecas, mas ainda não vos tinha falado do seu irmão mais novo, o Consulado, que abriu já há uns meses. Além de ter também as famosas panquecas, a ementa é mais variada (com novas saladas, bagels e cocktails) e o espaço bem maior. Já lá fui várias vezes, tanto para almoçar, como para brunch, e saí de lá sempre super satisfeita. A decoração também está fantástica, com plantas por todo o lado e uma forte influência marroquina. Mais um espaço para conheceram no Porto, se ainda não o fizeram.

I already talked about Diplomata and its famous pancakes, but I haven't told you about its youngest brother, Consulado, that opened a couple of months ago. You can find the famous pancakes, but the menu is way bigger (with new salads, bagels and cocktails) and the space is bigger as well. I already went there a couple of times, to have lunch and also brunch, and was always impressed by how delicious the food was. The decor is also amazing, with plants everywhere and a very strong Moroccan influence. Another place you have to visit here in Porto if you haven't done it yet.

Emprestado pela minha amiga Maria, The Catcher In The Rye foi o livro que andei a ler esta última semana. É um clássico americano e consigo perceber, perfeitamente, porquê. Conta, então, a história de Holden Caulfield, um adolescente de 17 anos que foi expulso da escola e que repudia todo o ambiente que o envolve. Foi publicado em 1951, mas continua a ser extremamente actual. É um símbolo da rebelião adolescente, mas toca também em temas como a inocência e a identidade, visto que Holden, que também é o narrador, deseja se manter verdadeiro e puro, um pouco como uma criança. Um aspecto que achei bastante interessante neste livro é toda a história se passar em apenas um fim-de-semana em que a personagem deambula pela cidade de Nova Iorque. Sem dúvida, um livro a adicionarem à vossa reading list.

Lent to me by my dear friend Maria, The Catcher In The Rye was the book I was reading this last week. It's an American classic, and I can totally understand why. It tells the story of Holden Caulfield, a 17-year-old teenage boy who got kicked out of school and hates the environment that surrounds him. It was published in 1951, but it's still very relevant nowadays. It's an icon for teenage rebellion, and deals with issues of innocence and identity, since Holden, who's also the storyteller, desires to remain true and pure to himself, almost like a child. Something that I really liked about this book, it's that the entire story covers just one weekend in which the main character walks through New York. Really loved this book, and you should definitely add it to your reading list.

"Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around - nobody big, I mean - except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. Quantas peças têm no vosso armário que apenas usaram uma vez? Eu tenho várias e não me orgulho nada disso. Este casaco é um desses exemplos. Não é que não goste dele, porque adoro-o, mas foi uma compra impulsiva e acabei por não lhe dar assim tanto uso. Por esta e muitas outras razões, este mês, estou a fazer novamente o desafio #NoShoppingMonth, mas um pouco diferente da outra vez, visto que não correu assim tão bem. A diferença desta vez é que apenas vou deixar de comprar em lojas fast fashion. Posso, portanto, continuar a comprar em lojas vintage (a Humana está com promoções btw). How many clothes you have in your wardrobe that you have only worn once? I have a lot, and I'm not proud of that. This jacket is an example. It's not that I don't like it, I really love it, but it was an impulsive purchase and ended up not using it that much. For this and many other reasons, I'm doing, once again, the #NoShoppingMonth challenge, but in a slightly different way this time since it didn't go so well last time. Hoje é dia de mais um 'Film Diary'. Desta vez com um mix de fotos por Lisboa e pelo Porto. Apesar de já chamar o Porto de casa há muitos anos, sou natural de Lisboa e cada vez gosto mais de passar lá algum tempo, é uma cidade que realmente me inspira. Mas, quanto às fotos, tenho experimentado vários tipos de rolo e acho que já descobri o meu favorito. Today I have for you another 'Film Diary'. This time with a mix of photos taken around Lisbon and Porto. Even though I've been calling Porto home for several years now, I'm from Lisbon, and I love that city more and more and love spending time over there, it's a city that really inspires me. But, about the photos. I've been playing with different kinds of film, and I think I already found my favourite. If you want, I can do a post about it and with some other things I've been learning about analogue photography. I hope you like the photos!

Recebi há uns dias uma proposta para um post pago no Instagram que me fez reflectir na forma como eu colaboro com certas marcas e como encaro estas colaborações de uma forma bem diferente agora. Não sei se é por cada vez perceber melhor aquilo que sou e aquilo que quero partilhar com vocês, mas acabei por recusar a proposta de que vos falo. Posso-vos dizer que nunca partilhei nada do qual realmente não gostasse, mas sinto que certas campanhas que fiz não fizeram grande sentido. Não se relacionavam com o tipo de conteúdo que, normalmente, partilho e não eram de todo aquilo que vocês procuram no meu perfil. E, por isso mesmo, recusei essa campanha digital. No entanto, sei que há uns tempos atrás teria aceite sem hesitar. Porque é um produto que, efectivamente, consumo e, acima de tudo, é dinheiro fácil. Não estou a criticar quem o faz, mas é publicidade pura e dura. Mas sabe bem. Sabe bem ter chegado a este ponto em que realmente sei a direcção que quero tomar no que toca ao conteúdo que partilho. Não estou com isto a dizer que nunca mais irão ver um post pago no meu Instagram ou aqui no blog, porque sei que o irei fazer, mas irá sempre fazer sentido e algo com o qual possa explorar a minha criatividade.

A few days ago, I got a proposal for a paid Instagram post that got me thinking about the way I collaborate with certain brands, and how I face those collaborations in a very different way now. I don't know if it's because I'm more aware of who I am and what I want to share with you, but I ended up refusing the proposal I'm talking to you about. I can assure you that I never shared anything that I don't like, but I also know that I did some Instagram campaigns that didn't make much sense. Didn't go with the kind of content I post, and they definitely weren't what you look for on my profile. And that's why I refuse that digital campaign. However, I know that a few years ago I would've said yes without a blink of an eye. Because it's a product that I use and, most of all, it's easy money. I'm not criticizing who does it, but it's very obvious publicity. But it feels good. Feels good getting to this point where I know which direction to take with my content. I'm not saying you will never see another paid post on my Instagram or here on the blog, but it will always make sense, and it will be something that will allow me to explore my creativity.

How's The Process?

Quer estejam à procura de um vestido da Réalisation Par ou de uma mala Celine, o processo é sempre o mesmo. Na página da peça que querem comprar têm uma secção de comentários onde podem fazer algumas perguntas ao vendedor da peça, caso ainda tenham alguma dúvida. Depois, podem então comprar a peça em questão ou então negociar o preço, fazendo uma oferta. Eu tive bastante sorte, pois a minha oferta foi aceite logo à primeira, mas pode acontecer o vendedor fazer uma contraproposta. Assim que o vendedor aceitar o vosso preço, aconselho-vos a fazerem logo a compra, pois outro comprador pode aproveitar para fazer a compra no novo valor e vocês ficam sem a vossa peça.

After choosing the piece you want to buy, on the page of the piece you can find a comments section where you can ask the seller for more info about it or any other question you might have. A minha mala demorou duas semanas a chegar, mas isto depende de vários factores. Eu comprei-a a uma pessoa particular o que demora mais tempo, mas se comprarem a um vendedor profissional (no site conseguem ver a diferença) pode ser bem mais rápido. Assim que fazem a compra, o vendedor envia a peça para o Vestiaire Collective para a vossa peça ser autenticada. No website podem acompanhar todo o processo, mas também vão recebendo e-mails com updates. Assim que a minha mala foi autenticada, demorou apenas dois dias a chegar a minha casa.

The bag took two weeks to arrive, but the time depends on a lot of factors. I bought my bag from an individual seller, which takes longer, but if you buy it from a professional seller (you can see the difference on the website) it can be faster. As soon as you make your purchase, the seller has to send the piece to Vestiaire's headquarters, where it's going to be authenticated. On the website, you can follow the whole process, but you also get e-mails with updates. Once my bag was authenticated, it took only two days to arrive at my house.

Always check the condition of your piece. On Vestiaire Collective you have three categories: fair conditions, good conditions and very good conditions. If the piece you want is in fair conditions, it can have a few damages, so always ask the seller for more info about it, if he doesn't mention it in the description.

Este mês fui a mais um festival de música (infelizmente, foi o último este Verão) e, como sempre, descobri bandas das quais fiquei fã. Uma delas foi a banda portuguesa First Breath After Coma. Conquistaram-me mal subiram a palco e na playlist podem encontrar algumas das minhas músicas favoritas. Também este mês descobri duas bandas que tenho adorado ouvir: The Technicolors e The Skinner Brothers. As duas bem diferentes, mas têm sido daquelas bandas que não consigo parar de ouvir. This month I went to another music festival (unfortunately, it was the last one this Summer) and, as always, I found some bands that I became a fan of. One of them was the Portuguese band, First Breath After Coma. They were amazing on stage, and you can listen to some of my favourite songs on the playlist. Also this month I got into two bands that I can't stop listening to: The Technicolors and The Skinner Brothers. They're both very different, but I'm really into their sound. Eu sei que costumo trazer assuntos um pouco diferentes nos outfits post, mas hoje vou apenas falar-vos deste vestido. Isto, porque o comprei para usar num casamento a que vou daqui a uns meses e porque sou completamente contra comprar peças que apenas vamos usar uma vez em determinado evento e, depois, deixá-las esquecidas no fundo do armário. I know I usually write about some very random topics on my outfit posts, but today I'm only going to talk about this dress. And I'm doing that because I've bought it to wear it to a wedding I'm attending in a few months and because I'm really against buying stuff just to wear on certain occasions.
