Acho que por esta altura já se aperceberam que este Verão ando viciadíssima em saias. As mini-saias são as minhas favoritas, mas em certos dias, simplesmente, não tenho paciência para "lidar" com elas, percebem o que quero dizer? Não me interpretem mal, adoro mini-saias e sinto-me fantástica quando as uso, mas quando usamos uma temos sempre de ser bastante cuidadosas com os nossos movimentos e sempre que nos sentamos ter a certeza que não estamos a mostrar mais do que aquilo que queremos e há certos dias em que, simplesmente, não queremos ter estas preocupações. É quando as saias midi aparecem e salvam o dia. Não sou muito alta e sempre achei que as saias midi me faziam parecer mais baixa, mas este Verão comecei a adorá-las. São tão frescas como qualquer outro tipo de saia, mas a melhor parte é que são super confortáveis. Claro que tive de comprar uma com o padrão leopardo, mas se no Verão passado apenas tinha uma saia midi no meu armário, este ano a colecção aumentou substencialmente. E já que já estou super ansiosa pela chegada do Outono, as saias midi também são uma excelente peça de transição, quem não adora um outfit com uma malha chunky e uma destas saias?! Por isso aqui fica a minha carta de amor às saias midi, nunca pensei dizer isto, mas apaixonei-me mesmo!

I guess you have already noticed it, but this Summer I'm really into skirts. Mini skirts are my favourites, but there are certain days that you just can't deal with it, do you know what I mean? Don't get me wrong, I love mini skirts and I sure feel amazing in one, but you have to always be very careful with your moves, make sure you don't show more than what you want when you sit down and there are certain days when you just don't want to deal with all that. That's when midi skirts come to save the day. I'm very short so I always thought midi skirts made me look shorter, but this Summer I'm really into them. They are just as breezy as any other kind of skirt, but the best thing is that they are super comfortable. Of course, I had to buy one in a leopard print, but if last Summer I only had one midi skirt in my wardrobe, this season the collection has grown. And since I'm already thinking about Autumn, they're the perfect transitional piece, who doesn't love an outfit with a chunky knit and a midi skirt?! So here is my love letter to midi skirts, I didn't see this one coming, but I really fell in love!

Se há altura do ano em que leio mais livros é no Verão. Não me perguntem porquê, mas acho que leio mais livros nesta altura do ano do que no ano inteiro. Quero começar a partilhar mais com vocês os livros que leio e estou a pensar talvez começar uma nova categoria aqui no blog, mas hoje vou partilhar com vocês três livros de memórias que eu adoro. Adoro ler memórias, são o meu tipo de livro favorito e parece que tenho um padrão, todas as memórias que leio são de pessoas relacionadas com o mundo da música, mas, sem dúvida, que estas pessoas têm as melhoras histórias para contar. Aqui estão três biografias para lerem este Verão.

If there's a time that I read a lot is during Summer. Don't ask me why, but I think I read more in Summer than in the whole year. I want to start sharing with you the books I'm reading and I'm actually thinking about starting a new category here in the blog, but today I will share with you three memoirs that I love. I love reading memoirs, they're my favourite kind of books and it looks like I have a certain pattern, all the memoirs I've read are from people related to music, but they definitely have the best stories to tell. So here are three memoirs for you to read this Summer.

JUST KIDS BY PATTI SMITH
Não me canso de falar deste livro. Recomendo-o a toda a gente e, inclusive, já falei dele várias vezes aqui no blog. Será sempre o meu livro favorito e que não me canso de ler vezes e vezes sem conta.  Além de se focar na relação de Patti Smith com Robert Mapplethorpe, podem-se perder na ruas de Nova Iorque nos anos 60.
I can't get tired of talking about this book. I recommend it to everyone and I already talked about it here on the blog several times before. It will always be my favourite book that I can read over and over again. Besides focusing on the relationship between Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe, you can also get lost in the streets of New York in the 60's. 

THE GIRL IN THE BAND BY KIM GORDON 
Ao contrário do Just Kids da Patti Smith, no 'A Miúda da Banda' podem acompanhar toda a vida da Kim Gordon, a emblemática baixista e vocalista dos Sonic Youth. Começa com a sua infância em Nova Iorque, a mudança para Los Angeles, a formação da banda e o seu casamento com Thurston Moore. E acima de tudo, ficam a perceber o que significa ser uma mulher num mundo em que os homens são a maioria.
Against Just Kids by Patti Smith, on the 'Girl In A Band' you can read about Kim Gordon's whole life, the emblematic bass guitarist and vocalist of Sonic Youth. It starts with her childhood in New York, her move to Los Angels, the beginning of the band and her marriage with Thurston Moore. Besides everything, you really get to understand how it is to be a woman in a world where men rule.

LIFE BY KEITH RICHARDS
E se nos dois livros anteriores, os Estados Unidos são o ambiente de fundo, no Life do Keith Richard vão directos para o Reino Unido nos anos 60. Confesso que não sou a maior fã dos Rolling Stones, mas a origem da banda fez-me querer ler este livro e adorei. Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll - é mesmo a melhor frase para descrever este livro. 
And if in the other two books the United States is the background, on Life by Keith Richards you go straight into the United Kingdom in the 60's. I confess that I'm not the biggest fan of Rolling Stones, but the place where the band is from really made me want to read this book and I loved it. Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll - this really is the best quote to describe this book.

O dia-a-dia de uma blogger baseia-se, essencialmente, em criar conteúdo e, depois, tratar desse mesmo conteúdo para partilhar com vocês. O dia em que tirámos esta foto foi um dia bastante produtivo em que consegui preparar vários posts, por isso achei interessante falar-vos um bocadinho de um típico dia de uma blogger.

The daily life of a blogger is all about creating content and then getting that content ready to share with you. The day we took this photo was a very productive day for me in which I could get several posts, so I thought it would be interesting to talk you through a typical day of a blogger.

GET EVERYTHING READY
Sou daquelas pessoas que decidi o que vestir no dia anterior, por isso esta parte já estava previamente preparada. Sabia que queria fotografar dois outfits, portanto um deles já estava arrumado para mais tarde fotografar.
I'm one of those people who decide what to wear on the previous day, so this part was already ready. I knew I wanted to shoot two outfits so one of them was already in a bag to take with me to shoot later.

 CREATE CONTENT
Além dos típicos outfits, gosto de partilhar com vocês outro tipo de conteúdo. Sabia que iamos a um brunch num sítio que nunca tinha ido, por isso aproveitei para criar um novo post para a rúbrica 'Where To Eat' (que podem ler AQUI). Além disso, aproveitei também para fotografar para o post 'The Best Apps To Edit Insta Stories' (que podem ler AQUI).
Besides the typical outfits, I like to share with you another kind of content. I knew we would be going to have brunch to a place I've never been before so I took this chance to create a new post for the 'Where To Eat' category (that you can read HERE). Besides that, I  also shot for the 'The Best Apps To Edit Insta Stories' post (that you can read HERE).

SHOOT OUTFITS
Depois foi a hora de fotografar os outfits. Nesse dia, como já vos disse, fotografei dois. Sempre que tenho tempo, tento fotografar o máximo possível, pois durante a semana não sei se irei ter tempo. O primeiro outfit foi fácil encontrar um sítio, mas para o segundo já foi bem mais difícil encontrar um background perfeito, mas lá conseguimos encontrar. Normalmente, demoramos entre 10 a 15 minutos a fotografar cada outfit.
After all that, it was time to shoot the outfits. As I already told you on that day I shot two different outfits. Every time I have some time I try to shoot as much as possible because during the week I don't know if I will have time. The first outfit was very easy to find a place to shoot, but for the second one was kind of hard to find the perfect background, but we did it anyway. Usually, it takes between 10 to 15 minutes to shoot an outfit.

EDIT AND SCHEDULE
Por fim, temos de editar todo o conteúdo que criámos e organizar os posts. Eu já tinha a semana do blog organizada, por isso já sabia quando ia publicar cada um dos posts, mas, mesmo assim, ainda fiz o upload das fotos e comecei a pensar no tema para cada post.
Lastly, you have to edit all the content you've created and organize the posts. I already had the week of the blog organized so I knew when I was going to post each post, but I still did the upload of the photos and started thinking about the theme of each post. 

Como sabem, este fim-de-semana fui até ao Gerês. Sou, assumidamente, uma rapariga de cidade, mas não imaginam o quão bem me soube este fim-de-semana no campo. Longe da confusão da cidade, sem rede no telemóvel e em contacto com a Natureza. Às vezes, só mesmo lá estando é que nos apercebemos de que, realmente, estavamos a precisar de uns dias assim. O nosso país tem sítios maravilhosos e o Gerês é um deles. Aconselho a fazerem uma pesquisa e visitaram algumas cascatas e lagoas, é mesmo incrível o que a Natureza consegue fazer. Nós fomos à Cascata da Portela do Homem, à Cascata do Arado e à Cascata do Tahiti. Os caminhos para chegar às cascatas não são os mais fáceis, é preciso ter bastante cuidado, mas, depois de lá chegarem, chegam à conclusão que todo o esforço valeu a pena. Ficam com algumas fotos que fui tirando durante o fim-de-semana, mas nada como ver estas maravilhosas vistas ao vivo e respirar algum ar puro! 

As you know, this weekend I went to Gerês. I definitely am a city girl, but you can't imagine how good it felt this weekend on the country. Away from the city, without service on my phone and surrounded by nature. Sometimes only when you get there you realize how much you were needing some days like that. Our country has gorgeous places and Gerês is one of them. I really recommend you to do a little research and visit some waterfalls and lagoons, it really is amazing what nature can do. We went to Portela do Homem Waterfalls, Arado Waterfalls and Tahiti Waterfalls. The roads to get there are not the easiest, you have to be very careful, but once you get there you realize that all the effort was so worth it. Here you can see some photos that I took, but there's nothing like seeing this amazing views with your own eyes and breath some fresh air!

Já há algum tempo, escrevi um post sobre o poder que o batom vermelho pode ter. E, também há algum tempo atrás, li isto na Vogue: "Durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial, o único produto de beleza cuja produção não foi cancelada pelo governo foi o batom vermelho. Considerado por Winston Churchill como impulsionador moral, a sua popularidade cresceu ainda mais e acabou por se transformar num símbolo de força feminina". Realmente, tem imenso de "impulsionador moral", mas acho que todos nós passamos por uma altura em que temos, de certa, vergonha de usar certas peças ou algum tipo de maquilhagem. Normalmente acontece quando somos mais novos e ainda nos preocupamos com aquilo que as pessoas possam pensar e, para mim, o batom vermelho era um desses produtos. Um batom vermelho transmite imenso poder, é certo, mas isso também pode ser bastante intimitante. Lembrei-me disto, porque um destes dias em que estava a usar batom vermelho, me lembrei dessa altura em que o achava super intimidante, mas é maravilhoso quando essa fase passa e simplesmente usavamos aquilo que nos apetece, sem preocupções do que a outras pessoas possam pensar. Life is too short, make every day a red lipstick day!

Some months ago I wrote a post about the power of red lipstick. Some time ago I also read this on Vogue: "During World War II, the only beauty product which production wasn't cancelled by the government was the red lipstick. Considered by Winston Churchill as a morale booster, it got even more popular and it has turned into a symbol of feminine strength". It really has a lot of "morale booster", but I think we all went through a phase in our lives that we get a bit ashamed of using certain pieces or some kind of makeup product. It usually happens when we are younger and to me, red lipstick was one of those products. A red lipstick can show a lot of power for sure, but that can also be very intimidating. I was thinking about this because one of this days I was using red lipstick and I remember how I used to find it so intimidating, it's wonderful when that phase goes away and you just use whatever you want, without caring about what would other people think. Life is too short, make every day a red lipstick day!

Este fim-de-semana fiz uma pequena viagem com um grupo de amigas e fez-me pensar o quão importante são na nossa vida as amizades com pessoas do nosso mesmo sexo. Sinceramente, sinto que são dos laços mais fortes que podemos criar durante a nossa vida. Primeiro, porque ningúem vai perceber melhor o que implica ser mulher nos dias de hoje do que as tuas amigas e segundo porque não sentem que os momentos que passam juntas são os vais divertidos? Eu pelo menos sinto isso! E se pensarem um pouco mais sobre este assunto, já viram que em todos filmes de adolescentes existe um grupo de amigas. Uma das séries com mais sucesso de sempre desenvolve-se em torno de um grupo de quatro mulheres que têm sido amigas durante anos, estou a falar de Sex And The City claro. E até mesmo o grupo de amigas da Taylor Swift tornou-se algo para além disso. A amizade com as nossa amigas moldam-nos de alguma forma e ensinam-nos mais sobre ser uma mulher do que alguma vez conseguiriamos aprender sozinhas. E acabo este post com uma frase que adoro da Carrie Bradshaw e que resume este post na perfeição: "Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun".

So, this weekend I went on a trip with some of my friends and that just made me think how important female friendships are in our lives. Honestly, I feel like female friendships can be one of the strongest human bonds. First, because no one will ever understand you better than your female friends, after all, they're the only ones who actually know how it's like to be a girl in this world and second because don't you feel you always have the greatest time when you are with them? I surely do! And if you think a little bit about it, every teenage/girly movie has a group of female friends. One of the most successful tv shows is all about a group of four girls that have been friends for a very long time, Sex And The City of course. And even the group of Taylor Swift's female friends became a thing. Female friendships kind of shaped us somehow and they actually teach us more about being a woman than we could ever learn on our own. And here is a quote by the one and only Carrie Bradshaw that I always loved and really sums up this post perfectly: "Maybe our girlfriends are our soul mates and guys are just people to have fun with"

Apresento-vos o meu mais recente produto favorito! Já tinha ouvido falar maravilhas dele e, finalmente, decidi comprar o setting spray da MAC. Deixem-me vos dizer que faz toda a diferença! Então agora no Verão que a maquilhagem tem mais tendência a derreter, tem sido o meu melhor aliado. Além de ter um cheirinho óptimo, refresca a pele e dá um boost de hidratação para refrescar e acabar a maquilhagem. Confesso que só agora comecei a usar este produto na minha rotina de maquilhagem, por isso não tenho termo de comparação com os das outras marcas, mas para já tem-me surpreendido pela positiva. I present to you my newest favourite beauty product! I've heard so many things about it and I finally decided to buy the MAC's setting spray. Let me tell you that makes all the difference. And now on Summer that makeup usually starts to melt, it has been my best friend. Besides having an amazing scent, refreshes the skin and gives a moisturizer boost to refresh and finish off makeup. I confess that I only added now this product to my makeup routine so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but it really got me surprise, in a good way of course. Have you ever used this product before? What do you think about it?

Mas adoro ver as das pessoas que sigo e acho uma excelente forma de comunicar de uma forma mais directa com os nossos seguidores. When it comes to insta stores, I am not the best to update them. But I love to see the ones from the people I follow and I think it's a great way to communicate with your followers in a more direct way. To me, it will always be a tool to complement the blog and that's why I'm always on the hunt for the best apps to edit my insta stories. I finally found some that I really like and today I'm going to share them with you.

Esta é, provavelemente, a que mais uso. Além de ter imensos layouts gratuitos que tanto podem ser usados com vídeos ou fotos, tem um pack com molduras em estilo de filme que eu adoro. Tenho a certeza que sabem o que estou a falar e, além de usar para as stories, às vezes uso mesmo no meu feed (às vezes até aqui no blog, só para verem o quanto eu gosto deste pack). 
This is probably the app I use the most. Besides having loads of free layouts that you can use for photos and videos, they also have a pack with film style frames that I love. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about and I like it so much that sometimes I use it on the feed (and other times, even on the blog).

This photo is only for photos and it also gives you that film photo vibe. It's not really about editing, but it's an app that I love to use for Instagram stories. Instead of using the camera of your phone, you open this app, take the photo and then you get a film style photo.

Como sabem, no Domingo passado, fui a um brunch com algumas das minhas amigas e começamos a falar dos nossos signos. Eu nunca fui muito de prestar atenção aos signos, mas cada vez acho mais interessante. Não estou a dizer que devemos seguir o que o horóscopo diz sobre o nosso signo, mas saber algumas das características do nosso signo pode ajudar-nos a conhecer mais sobre nós próprios. Portanto, o meu signo é Virgem e identifico-me imenso com algumas das características deste signo. A primeira coisa que li e que me identifico imenso é que normalmente, as pessoas deste signo são bastante envergonhadas com pessoas novas, mas assim que ficam confortáveis, são tudo menos envergonhadas. Isto sou eu COMPLETAMENTE! Também dizem que as pessoas do signo Virgem são excelentes a dar conselhos e sabem sempre como resolver um problema. Não estou a dizer que dou os melhores concelhos do mundo, mas normalmente as pessoas procuram-me quando precisam de resolver um problema. Last Sunday as I already told you I met up with some of my girls for a brunch and we started talking about our star signs. I was never really into it, but I've been getting more and more interest by it. I'm not saying we should always believe what the horoscope says about our star sign, but knowing some characteristics of it can help us know more about oursleves. So, I am a Virgo and I can really relate to some of the things they say about my star sign. The first thing that I read and that I couldn't relate more is that Virgos are often shy around new people, however when they are comfortable, they are anything but shy. This is TOTALLY ME!!! They also say Virgos are excellent advisors, always knowing how to solve a problem. I'm not saying I give the best advices ever, but people around me usually always come to me when they need to solve a problem. Last, but not least, they say a Virgo's brain is always in overdrive, which is why we get so much shit done. I do always have a lot of things going on in my brain and maybe that's one of the reasons why I can always have a new post every day. But now tell, do you relate to your star sign? No passado Domingo foi dia para conhecer mais um novo espaço cá no Porto, o Miss Pavlova. O nome pode enganar, porque a ementa não está, de todo, restrita à pavlova. Fui lá para um brunch e fiquei mesmo surpreendida. A ementa é super variada, podem contar com panquecas, diferentes tipos de ovos, bruschettas, smoothie bowls e vários bolos. E o melhor é que está disponível todos os dias e a qualquer hora. Eu optei por uns ovos mexidos, umas panquecas com fruta, um cappuccino e um sumo natural de laranja e paguei cerca de 12€. O espaço também é super agradável, tanto o inteior como a esplanada estão com uma decoração super gira. E se estão a pensar lá ir, ficam já a saber que a Miss Pavlova fica dentro da loja Almada 13, por isso têm de percorrer a loja toda até lá chegaram (mas vale super a pena, porque a loja também é super gira). Já conheciam este espaço? Eu fiquei fã!

Last Sunday it was time to meet a new place in town, Miss Pavlova. And don't get mistaken by the name, because the menu has way more things than just the famous pavlova cake. I went there for a brunch and got really surprised. They have loads of things on the menu, you can find pancakes, different kind of eggs, bruschettas, smoothie bowls and several cakes. And the best thing is that it's available every day and at any time. I went for scrambled eggs, pancakes with fruit, a cappuccino and an orange juice and paid around 12€. The place is also very nice, the interior and the balcony are both very cute. And if you're thinking about going there, you should know that Miss Pavlova is inside the Almada 13 store, so you have to go through the whole store to get there (but the store is also very worth to take a look around). Have you ever heard about this cafe before? I became a fan!

Aqui estão mais alguns outfit que partilhei com vocês no últimos tempos. Desta vez com menos saias e vestidos e com mais outfits de calças, o que, sinceramente, não faz muito sentido, visto que tivemos alguns dos dias mais quentes, mas, mesmo assim, este mês ainda descobri os meus calções vintage Levis e ainda criei alguns outfits com eles. This time with fewer skirts and dresses and more outfits with trousers which honestly doesn't make much sense since we had some of the hottest days, but I actually found my vintage Levis shorts this month and created some outfits with them. Je ne sais quoi. Tenho a certeza que já ouviram esta expressão antes e, sim, acertaram, é uma expressão francesa. Traduzida literalmente signigica "não sei o quê". Pode ser aplicada para diferentes coisas, mas deixem-me vos dizer, as mulheres francesas têm esse 'je ne sais quoi', especialmente no que toca à forma de se vestirem. Podem estar a usar o outfit mais simples de sempre (provavelemente uma t-shirt às riscas e uns jeans) e, mesmo assim, estaram fabulosas e porquê? Porque têm esse tal 'je ne sais quoi'. Pensem por exemplo na Fraçoise Hardy - será sempre um ícone de estilo - ou então, mais recentemente, a Carolina De Maigret - autora do livro 'How To Be Parisian' que eu adoro (e explica super bem aquilo de que estou a falar) e possuidora de um estilo effortless que tantas vezes tentamos recriar. Há alguma coisa na mulheres francesas que é impossível replicar. Elas conseguem usar os básicos como ningúem e estarem sempre fantásticas. No fim de contas, acho que tudo se resume a confiança e à atitude e, claro, este 'je ne sais quoi' não é algo exclusivo às mulheres francesas, há ícones de estilo por todo o mundo, não apenas franceses. Mas é inspirador, não imaginam a quantidade de vezes que me ponho a ver fotos do estilo das mulheres francesas no Pinterest. Por isso, obrigada por me inspirarem tanto e talvez um dia, também eu consigo alcançar esse tal 'je ne sais quoi'!

Je ne sais quoi. I'm pretty sure you already heard this expression before and you guess it right, it's a French expression. It literally means "I don't know what". You can apply this to a lot of different things, but let me tell you, french girls have this 'je ne sais quoi', especially when it comes to the way they dress. They can be wearing the simplest thing ever (probably a striped t-shirt and jeans) and still look fabulous and why? Because they have the 'Je ne sais quoi'. Think about Françoise Hardy - forever a style icon - or more recently Caroline De Maigret - author of the 'How to Be Parisian' book that I truly love (it kind of explains this that I'm talking about so well) and expert on the effortless style that we try to achieve so many times. There's something about French women that no one can replicate. They rock basics like no one else and look amazing while doing it. Ultimately I think it's all about attitude and confidence and of course, this 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' is not something exclusive to French women, there are women all around the world that have it, not all style icons are french obviously. It's inspiring and I find myself looking at french girls' style on Pinterest so many times.
