After a few months in lockdown, I think that something common to all of us is how much we miss travelling. I had to cancel a few trips, but I still want some vacation, that's why I'm going to take advantage of my country to the fullest. I'm lucky enough to live in a beautiful country, and I'm sure you do as well. I already planned a few trips during Summer, but, if you follow me on Instagram, you know last weekend I went to Vila Nova de Cerveira. And it was so good. I stayed at a place with no connection, I left the laptop at home, and I enjoyed so much to be around Nature for a couple of days. Sometimes, all we need is to get away from our usual place. To stop our routine for a while and discover new places. And most of the times they are so close to our home, and we don't even know. We don't have to travel to a paradisiac island far away, sometimes we just have to take a one-hour car ride to find a place where we can disconnect and find peace. Just at little escape, so you return home inspired and ready to tackle a new week.

Another classic that I can take off from my list: The Diary of a Young Girl. In a couple of months, hopefully, I will go to Amsterdam and, since I'm visiting her house and I've never read this book before, I decided to add it to my reading list. I'm sure you're all familiar with this story, but in this diary, Anne Frank, a Jewish young girl, expresses her thoughts over a two year period during which her family and friends are hiding during World War II and the Holocaust. Despite the tragic ending, it impressed me how she never lost hope. I was expecting to read about a young girl suffering while hiding, but instead, I got to know a smart and strong-minded girl who was always hopeful and, with only thirteen, wrote beautifully. It's really sad to see someone with so much potential and passion for life, and in the end, never made it to accomplish her dreams or see her work published. It's a book that everyone should read. It tells a real story that needs to be told over and over again, and the Holocaust is something we should never forget.

"I've found that there is always some beauty left - in nature, sunshine, freedom, in yourself; these can all help you."

We finish this week with another film diary with some photos from the last couple of days. This time, there are some landscape photos, but there are some landscapes that are so gorgeous that you just have to shoot. Once again, I love the final result of these photos. I shot them with the Kodak ColorPlus 200, but I'm now using the Portra 400 (that I have never used before) and I'm very excited, I can't wait to see how the photos will turn out. But tell me, what do you think about these photos?

I'm really into doing my own necklaces right now, and I just love these beaded ones. It's an amazing way to stay creative, and the good thing is that no one else has necklaces like yours. I already shared HERE how I made them, but I learned a few new techniques, so today I'm sharing with you the necklaces that I already did.

This one with the flowers is one of my favourites. It's harder, and it takes longer to make, but the final result is very cute. If you're interested, I watched THIS video to learn how to do it.

I also love this kind of beads with letters on them. You can create all kinds of words. For now, I've only made this one and some bracelets to give to my friends, but I already have some new ideas.

"As tendências vão e vêm, o estilo é eterno."

"Trends come and go, style is eternal." I'm sure you already read this quote somewhere, but I don't totally agree with it. Sure, certain pieces of clothing are classics that will never go out of style, but I also think that some trends actually come to stay, at least I can speak for myself. There are a lot of things that were very trendy in the past that I still wear nowadays, here are a few of them.

A while ago, I share with you some photographers I follow on Instagram that inspire me a lot through their photos (you can see that post HERE). At the time, I ended up not mentioning some accounts that I also love, so today I bring you the second part of that post. If you like this kind of posts, I have more accounts that I can share with you, so tell me on comments below. And by the way, do you know any other photographers that I should follow?

The reading of literature classics keeps going strong, and the last one I read was 1984 by George Orwell. I really loved it, but it's one of the most frightening books I have ever read. I can totally understand why it's such a classic. 1984 is a dystopian novel and is set in Airstrip One (formerly Great Britain), whose residents are victims of perpetual war, public manipulation and government surveillance. Working, eating, thinking, talking, all are controlled by the state. Even language is modified in such ways so you cannot express yourself. There is no real truth. The truth is what the state says it is. It's a very scary book and it explores a lot of things that we can see happening in the world today. I say this because, deep down, we're also controlled by our government, and often in ways, we are not consciously aware of. Also, nowadays, we kinda are being watched by our phones/computers, all our information is saved, and that reminded me a bit of the surveillance talked about in the book. Obviously, 1984 takes it to the extreme, but it's scary anyway. All of this made me really love the book. A classic you won't want to miss.

Mas agora digam-me, têm alguma peça favorita desta wishlist?

As I said to you before, the decor-related posts are going to appear here more often since I moved house. Little by little the house is turning into a home, and today I'm sharing with you my wishlist with some things I really wouldn't mind having. These are all very small things, we rented a house so most of the things were already here, but there are always some things you can add to make it more your own. Once everything is ready, if you'd like it, I'll share some photos of the house with you. But now tell me, do you have a favourite piece from the wishlist?

I haven't talked about this topic here before and, to be honest, I don't really know how to do it. But I also know I have to do it. We're living a time when we are all waking up to racism. We are educating ourselves, we are realizing how our society really is, and admitting that even ourselves have said something racist in the past. I know I have and the first step to creating a better society is to admit our mistakes. I'm sure you were all aware of #BlackoutTuesday. All our feeds were invaded with little black squares and, even though I think it was a good initiative, I decided not to join it. I've made this decision because I don't think we will change anything this way. It was such a huge trend that most people were posting the black square just because. They posted it because they felt they had. They posted because they were afraid they would be called racist if they didn't. I even considered posting it, but I don't want to be just another one. I want to change my behaviour and I have to do it in real life. And that's exactly what I've been doing. Every time I find something useful with relevant information (and that hasn't been posted a million of times before), I will post it on my Stories, every time I feel I have to say something I will write about it here and, meanwhile, I will be educating myself so one day we can live in a society where equality rules.

So, today is time to talk about another book, and against the other times, today I'm talking about a book I really didn't enjoy. I'm talking about Bluets by Maggie Nelson. Bluets examinates love and loss through the lens of the colour blue. It's a collection of shorts thoughts and briefs paragraphs, and, to be honest, I didn't think they had that much connection between them, they just felt very random. I felt as if the author was trying too hard. I felt like she was trying to write things that are smart, but she ends up sounding very sad and depressed. Sure, there are some beautiful quotes, and it's really well written, almost like a poem, but, in my opinion, the book didn't flow. I didn't drop it, it's a very short book so you can easily read it in just one day, but I don't really recommend it. I had really high expectations for this book, so maybe that's why I feel this way, but I just didn't connect with it at all.

"If I were today in my deathbed, I would name my love of the colour blue and making love with you as two of the sweetest sensations I knew on this earth."

I know I say this every time I post a new 'film diary', but I'm really in love with this new camera I've been using (you can already read everything about it on THIS post). I've been trying new films, and I love to see the different results. On this diary, you can see some photos from days spent at the beach, the moving day (as I already told you, I moved house), and some bits from the new house. I hope you like the photos. And by the way, are you a fan of analogue photography? Tell me in the comments below.

Contem-me tudo!

Now that I moved house and I had to select some pieces of clothing to bring with me, I realized how hard it is to let go of some clothes. I know I haven't been wearing them in a while and most of them are just laying in the wardrobe for months, but some pieces of clothing just remind me of a certain moment, and for that reason, I can't get rid of them. It can be a dress that I wore for the first time in London (and it reminds of that trip) or a piece of clothing that someone gave to me. Most of those clothes I didn't even bring with me, because deep down I know I will not wear them again, but I also don't want to give them away. It's funny how something so simple as a piece of clothing can get so much emotional charge. As I already said, this happens to me, mostly, with pieces of clothing that remind of trips. Does this also happen to you? Which piece in your wardrobe you can't get rid of? Tell me everything!
